2014 C7 Glove Box release switch
Hi folks. I need some help. I recently purchased a 2014 C7 Auto Z51 and the switch that opens the glove box doesn’t work and I need to replace it. I have read several threads as to how to manually open the glove box but there isn’t a solution to replace the faulty switch. I have not been able to find the part in order to purchase it. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I was able to find this one with the original part number 22813974 from Factory OEM Parts.
Thanks again for the help. I’ll try and post a follow-up for the replacement.

Since you must remove the switch anyway, see if you can can tell what's wrong with it. Sometimes such are repairable with... whatever's around and about. All the best.

Will do Avanti. It appears that it quit functioning and the previous owner thought by pushing it harder they could force it to work and simply broke it, but I’ll definitely examine it to see if it’s repairable 👍

Just an update, I’m still waiting on the switch to get here. Seems the USPS decided to send it from MO to DC instead of directly to North Carolina. SMH

Well, after traveling across the country and back the switch finally came in. While I was waiting, I needed a new key fob and key as I had misplaced the original and was left with just a generic one that would not remote start the vehicle. So... I had the brilliant idea to take it to the dealership to get it done(covered by my extended warranty) along with an oil change. Figured having just purchased the car I'd also have them do a complete inspection nose to tail as it had a little rattle at idle sometimes. Wow I now understand why y'all call them "Stealerships". The list was endless, but that is another story for a different post. I will install the new switch and let you know if the old one is repairable as soon as I get my C7 back.

Shekmark427 I’ll send you a message on the details, but it turned out well. Turns out they were extremely thorough and there were some overpriced items as well as some I’m not sure about, but somehow they got the torque tube, shocks(magnetic adj) and even an alignment covered by the warranty company even though I’ve only owned my C7 for 45 days. Truely a happy Thanksgiving for me.
I will gladly pay for key fob and programming 😃

It’s still there!!!
Sorry folks for being away so long on this, but believe it or not my C7 is still at the dealership so I haven’t had the opportunity to do the swap in the glove box switch yet. It is supposed to finally be back in my hands Thursday evening.
I’m holding off with the post on the dealership experience until after I get it back. Suffering from Corvette withdrawal symptoms at this point.
