Who settled for a car that was not just what they wanted?
I know how it goes, get the fever, got to buy while the wife or GF still cool to the idea. Then the reality is that is just so damn hard to find just what you wanted without buying extra stuff, or the color you wanted ect. Seems if you are looking for a good deal the cars they discount have a lot of extras you may not have really wanted. I have narrowed down to what I want, z51 2LT, manual tranny, no data recorder, stock or black wheels, Magnetic suspension, regular roof. that's it. SG or black preferred colors. Just nearly impossible to find this car.
So what did you settle for in order to get you car or did you order it your way?

Ordered it my way, but had to settle for the transparent roof, not VY body color.

My dealer had one that had all the stuff I had to have (A6, 3LT Kalahari and LRG) plus some other stuff I could have lived without. (Yellow calipers, exposed carbon fiber roof and chrome wheels, those alone would have saved $4K+ on msrp). But now that I have it I like it just as much as if I would have ordered a "perfect" one. And it was only three hours from seeing it for the first time to having it in my garage at home.

Ordered what I wanted. The only thing I couldn't get was the Clear Protective Film (discontinued or something), from what I understand I lucked out without getting it.

I originally factory ordered a Blade Silver 2LT coupe with red interior, navigation, performance exhaust, and wing spoiler. After waiting months, I discovered the "allocation" the dealer promised me he had, was a lie. The day I cancelled the order and got my deposit back, I purchased an in stock Arctic White convertible from a different dealer. This one had a black top, 2LT, navigation, performance exhaust, and black sueded seats. I have since added a black Z51 spoiler, stinger stripe, and aftermarket wheels.
So, I ended up with a very different Stingray then what I thought I wanted and I have never looked back. This thing is AWESOME and that convertible top, down and up in seconds, a true "roadster".
I am sooo happy that first dealer lied to me...
I could be no happier then I am now. If I had to do it again, I would order the exact C7 I have now....

I understand the "fever", my buddies and I joke about it all of the time. I settled when I bought my C6 and it bothered me every time I saw one optioned the way I wanted. With my C7, I got exactly what I wanted. Torch red Z51 2LT M7 with AR interior with black wheels! I am very happy with it!

Yeah I have decided I'm not settling on something I don't want. I have done that to many times in the past. This car is just for me, just as I want it!

Waiting, waiting, waiting, and then waiting some more. Going on almost 3 months, now, but I would NEVER even consider getting anything except EXACTLY what I want!

Custom ordered from a forum dealer. Got everything I wanted and needed, except Carbon Fiber Dash (FAY). Didn't want to wait as it was on/off constraint at the time. It was at the bottom of my "want list", but still would have been nice.
No forum dealers had anything in-stock at even 80% of my needs/wants list. Torch Red with Kalahari was the color combo I wanted, so that limited the choices on in-stock/in-transit.

I got lucky, found exactly the car I ordered (planned to order) at a dealer in Chicago; I live in central Virginia. They accepted supplier pricing;bought it and had it shipped to my home via covered van. Ten days from check to dealer to car in my garage.Very happy with the car and transaction. Now if it would only warm up few degrees so I can get it on the road!!!!

Eventually I know I'm going to have to settle, as I will be buying my C7 used, so I'm at the mercy of what's available out there, and it's an even smaller pool of cars up here. I really want Torch Red with a Gray interior, and I realize that will be next to impossible to find. I wish I had the $$$ to order a new one!
