Which Cleaner for Brakes
Ready to replace my Z51 brakes with Carbotech 1521’s. Looked at the 3 brake cleaners I have that I could use. The CRC Brakleen is the recommended chlorinated solvent. However it says, “Do not use on painted parts.” Don’t want to damage by brake caliper paint. Could use a product I often use on parts of my cars before painting etc., 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner that does not harm paint. Or plain rubbing alcohol. Neither of the later two are proably as good at cleaning but will not harm the paint.
Does anyone have experience with CRC Brakleen as related to painted calipers?
Which One to Use??

Melting Slicks
If it were me, I’d use a spray intended for brakes, don’t want some foreign material possibly affecting braking performance. Cover the calipers to prevent paint damage. Don
