2015 Z51 paint
We have a 2015 Z51 3LT, and love the car!! BUT the paint job is not quality, its shark grey. It has a lot of orange peel, and it varies from body panel to panel.
Has anyone had any success with dealing with Chevy on this? Any ideal on how to deal with it?
Im looking for ideas..I have an appointment to see the dealer about it next week, and am trying to arm myself!
THANKS!

Too bad you did not raise this issue prior to signing on the bottom line at delivery. I doubt the dealer will do anything but give you a song and dance on how most Vettes have some degree of orange peel, etc.

Tell the dealer that you just want to change colors and I'm sure he will change your grey for a blue. Seriously Good Luck. There is a possibility that your dealer could try to paint your car and make it much worse. A lot of GM body departments have this problem.

You might see a $53,000 Stingray with better paint than a $105,000 Z06.
I've always ordered my Corvettes exactly to my spec's. And some guys get a big kick out of the Museum delivery experience. But that makes it a gamble on body and paint issues. For guys who are not accepting of cosmetic flaws a better choice would be to skip the custom build and travel to a big dealer like Kerbeck and settle for an already-built Corvette after you thoroughly inspect it

It is what it is. A good read and see how the EPA regulations affect your Corvette paint.

To the OP....good luck with the dealer. I'd leave the paint alone or take the car to an experienced detailer in your area who could wet sand and polish out the paint like you see in Glen's pics. This will be your best choice if you want it reduced, but not eliminated. It will take a lot of experience in wet sanding and polishing to not burn through the clear coat. It may not make you feel any better, but on a Challenger forum there's a number of concerns over the quality or lack of on the Hellcats that are comparable in price to the Z51 C7.

Museum delivery, the car was paid for a week before I even saw it. In the museum lights it's ok, outside in the sun is where it really stands out. If I saw this car prior to paying for it, I would have walked away. My dealer did offer to repaint it. Can you imagine the over spray all over the door jams, engine, etc. if I were to let them paint my 1 month old car.
