Default Z06 quarter panel vents installed

Gene was kind enough of trust me with one of his first sets of Z06 quarter panel vents to see if they'd fit a standard body car. Happy to say they do! Thanks Gene!

Total install for the drivers side was about an hour, the passenger side about 15 minutes. If I recall it's 12 torx screws on the drivers side and 8 on the passengers side (due to no screws around gas filler).

I just picked up the car 3 days ago, so I can't say if it has any impact on actual temps.

How tough was the swap? Did you need to remove the fenders?

I'm more than happy to put up the instructions on this replacement if it would help.

It does require removal of the fender panel(s) as the vents are held in by three nuts.

I suspect this will be a popular mod.

Those look great.

And to Theta - please do put up the install instructions and part numbers if you have those.

Install wasn't too difficult, but can be a bit scary at times. I'm not sure exactly how the quarter panel is attached, but if you remove the torx screws in the door sill (3) and back hatch area (4) and wheel well (1) the panel is able to pull from the top of the car, but only about 5-6 inches. This is where I was pretty worried I could snap the panel. If you don't pull it out far enough, you risk losing one of the nuts while loosening them. Pull too far you may damage the fender.

You use an 8mm wrench to remove the three nuts on the bottom holding the vent on. New one pops into place, replace the three nuts, and you're ready to go.

Will do - still chipping away at PMs and requests, but I have them on another screen here ready to edit in just a bit.

How-Tos created for fender removal, and scoop replacement!

SFengineer, please feel free to post any information you'd like to add to that post. This will surely be a popular mod for many that want to have those Z06 vents.
