Chuck, is it worth it to tune a C7 M7 (stock). My c6 had many mods and obviously got tuned.

Biggest bang for the buck and biggest change you can get out of a vehicle for least money spent...

It paves the way for other mods and you can stop any time.

Saves thousands up front.

thinking of doing this, but don't want to waste money. This statement contradicts whats in your ad about "reasonable amount of retunes are always free, except where customer makes significant engine mods". So if thats the case, why would you tell people to get the tunes first? That would mean paying for a new tune after every mod i would make...please clarify.

PS the other thing that is making my decision harder is the ability to take off if an issue arrises and i have to take to the dealer. Being that i literally have all the warranty left on the car, I'm worried about an issue that is not the tunes fault not being taken care of cause they use the excuse of the tune. Can the auto cal remove all your stuff if i need be, and can i put it back myself or is that an added charge?

with regards to the REASONABLE re tunes.....

There are customers that are pleasant to work with and they have received initial tunes...

re-tunes for headers....

re-tunes for cams....

re-tunes for rear end changes....

re-tunes for torque converter changes....

and re-tunes for just about any tweaking they want....

All told.... I've lost a small fortune re-tuning these peoples cars with reviewing datalogs, writing tunes,

and (the worst) talking with them on the phone over and over again about it.....

AND.... I'm happy to do it and that's my policy. Not every customer needs sooo much, but hey....

On the other hand, I have had customers with mechanical problems or mis-matched parts that don't work and

on occasion I have to tell them "fix it" or we can't continue.

TO DATE I HAVE NEVER CHARGED AN AUTOCAL CUSTOMER A RE-TUNE FEE.

I've gone way out of my way to keep my work on top.

The best thing I can tell you is to please cooperate, and more importantly, don't be a DICK with me.

People who are friendly and play nice always get 1000% of my attention.

The purpose of owning a hand held device is so that you can put any tune in that you want.....

Including your stock tune.... And there is no charge for that.

When you get a tune from me, you will get the normal succession of updated tunes as we work

on the car and you always get a stock one from me as well. Both engine and trans (where applicable)

I had a Chuck COW tune on my 2004 which was amazing.

I have an A8 2015 Coupe on order.

What is your experience with the new A8?

We're all just getting started....

GM has a habit of letting these cars hit the streets when the "Corvette" season closes for most of us.

Not to worry... The A6 was amazing and the A8 will only be better.

Smart guys will buy A8 cars cause they will never break and the performance will be AWESOME!

I'm going to spend the next 2 months or so working out my tunes for them so we're ready for spring.

Even stock, they are GREAT to drive.

A couple questions:

what are the warranty implications on a C7 for getting JUST the cow booster to improve throttle response?
Is the product available in Canada?

The CoW BOOSTER! would require use of an AutoCal device, otherwise you would have to remove and ship your pcm.

The C7 works differently than the C6 with respect to CoW BOOSTER!.

Sending a car to the dealer with a powertrain failure and a tune LOADED, could cause problems.

If there is no tune in the car it would likely not be a problem.

The AutoCal allows you to install and uninstall the tune at will.

Chuck,

Do you know if the stingray keeps track of the flashes to the computer?

as in, if it goes to dealer after powertrain failure for warranty work, but the stock tune is loaded back on. Can they see if the tune was previously modified?

All computers do it as far back as 2005 at least. It just depends on who is looking and with what equipment.

Considering how long that feature has been part of the ECM, you should notice that it's never

really been an issue for guys tuning their vettes.

Check the forum carefully..... EVERYONE is worried about it, but you'll find it's never an issue.
