Default New CCW Wheel design for C7.

I read a few months ago that John had one in the works. Since then I've also heard Weld Wheels bought them out.

Does anyone have any info?

I live less than 5 miles up the road from CCW and spoke with John last July when he showed me the new design for the C7 and the 991 (similar offset challenges in the 20" size) and he didn't mention anything was in the works.

However, here's the announcement. http://weldwheels.com/weld-announces-acquisition-ccw/

I need to swing by between Christmas and New Years and see what's up.

I stopped by and talked to John at CCW. Yes, he has sold the business to Weld but he's on a 2 year retainer to run the business through its transition. He calls it his retirement plan as he plans to retire when his obligation with Weld expires. The cash infusion should accelerate R&D as well as their marketing but it's unknown what it will do to prices. For now it's situation normal.

As for the new C7 design, they just got the new base forgings for the new shape and will start cutting wheels next week. He expects to have production prototypes in a couple weeks and will give me a call when they are ready to take a look and comment. I'll let you know what I find.

Good for him. John's a great guy and deserves only the best. I wonder if Chip will stay around.
