Does Z51 3lt have luxury and gas guzzler tax in nj?
Greetings;
Does anyone know ball park of NJ luxury and gas guzzler tax for the z51 3lt? If so what is the percentage? I don't think it has gas guzzler tax but pretty sure about the luxury tax.
Thanks,
Please either ignore this thread or delete it. I think that I have found the answer and posted in another thread. I would like to remove it but I can't. My apology for any inconvenient this may cause.

Is 2015 Z51 3lt luxury tax still .4%?
Greetings,
Could someone please confirm that the luxury tax for the 2015 z51 3lt is still .4% for the gross amount and there is no gas guzzler tax? For instance, if the car is $70000 the luxury tax will be $280, correct?

EH? Luxury Tax? That went out many years ago. I last paid a Luxury Tax on my 1972 Lincoln. Unless you have a local or state luxury tax that I don't know about. We have an excise property tax here in MA that is $25 per $1K of value. I expect I will get a bill for my 2015 for around $1,400. It goes down every year as the value goes down. That is the cost for living in Taxachusetts!

Thank you for your feedback.
This is what I've found at NJ MVC web site. But it is dated back in 2006. So I am not sure if it's still applicable. http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/pdf/Vehicles/luxtaxfaq.pdf/
@higgs
Forgive my ignorance, what's the Corvette tax if you aren't joking?

Obviously it depends on what state you're living in, and you can easily look it up at your state's DMV website.
For the record, I purchased my car from Les Stanford and registered it in New Jersey and I absolutely did have to pay a .4% luxury tax. It was actually extremely irritating, because the DEALERSHIP has to fill out the luxury tax form. I had to go to the DMV three times because the dealership faxed it to the DMV, and the DMV repeatedly "lost" it. I would have the DMV send you a copy directly and bring it yourself to avoid this headache.

If you register the car in New Jersey, you will pay the luxury tax. I just took delivery of my 15 Z51 on 12/2 and MacMulkin sent me the form all properly prepared. There is no loop hole, it must be paid.

If you are buying a car in NJ but registering it in NJ then you don't have to pay it.

Haven't lived in NJ for eleven years. However it's a great place. Just open yer eyes. There's a lot more to NJ than the refineries of Newark. Ok, so Pennsy is really just North Philly or Pittsburgh. Period,,, just Christmas joy here.
