Congrats, nice color combo, what color interior did you get. Nice to see more C-7's arrive in FL. We get to use our cars all year long. No storage needed. Remember they will not out run those FHP Motorola radios.

Yes, I'm in Dallas now.
What part of Tampa are you in? I was actually in Odessa, one mile from Sickles High School which is in Tampa.

Congrats and welcome to the club. I was in your shoes 7 months ago when I ordered my first sports car, well sans the wife, kids...or big house :-) this car manages to put a smile on my face even after the craziest of days at work. I can stop driving even now in the winter up here in mn. 7,000 miles and I can wait to put on some more.
Cheers!

Great color combo. Welcome aboard and I hope you love yours as much as the wife and I love ours.

Welcome. You learn a lot on the Forum. I took a break for a spell until I got my C7 just recently. Be sure and join a local club. You seem to be outgoing and the clubs offer many things of varied interests.

Welcome Bruce,
I live in Tampa and gave my wife our first Vette (VY) this year and love it. We joined Tampa bay Vette and have met a bunch of great people. The meetings are held at Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City. Look them up on line for the next meeting and hope to see you there. By the way, was that pic taken at Wiregrass Mall?

Congrats! I went from a Jaguar XK to my C6 and now a C7 and have never looked back. You will be amazed by this car. BTW, my original C7 order was for a silver coupe. Dealer did not have the allocation he promised and I ended up buying a white vert off the showroom floor from a dealer out of state. I still have a soft spot for silver coupes though. Good luck..!

All black interior to match the black accents on the outside. I'm always paranoid about stains and wear with color material. I even picked up an insurance policy that covers the interior from wear and damage like holes.

Welcome from Clearwater, Fl. My story same as yours even down to the prior 2003 Cobra. Had a week off from work and saw my neighbors new C7 so went to look and bought one off the lot. Wish I had come here first. Didnt know about forum dealers and credit union discounts, etc. Learned a lot here though and know exactly how to procede with my next one.

I'm in a similar situation
I just turned 41 and just sold a couple of aircraft and have been thinking about getting a fun car. Here's what I need help with Bruce....how often are you needing to go somewhere with 2 or more kids and you're like dang, I want to take the Vette but it only holds 2?
The only thing keeping me from taking the leap is that I have a 6 and 9 year old so I can see a lot of scenarios where I want to go somewhere with both of them and it's killing me that I have to leave the C7 in the garage. We currently have 2 cars (that hold our whole family) but my wife home schools and rarely goes out without me and only puts maybe 20 miles a month on her Lexus. As is it kills me to have a car that never gets driven but there are the rare occasions where we need both cars that hold at least 3 people (what no bench seat option for the C7?). So I either keep two cars in addition to the Vette that never get driven or I sell one of those but then my wife occasionally gets stuck at home when I need the bigger car to take out clients.
I can afford to have the C7 as a 3rd car but I'm really frugal so I know it will drive me nuts to have 2 cars just sitting. It's a weird position with a 6 and 10 year old because my oldest isn't old enough to baby sit so my wife would be stranded at home on days I need her car.
I've got to stay off this forum because a few days ago I decided I'd wait until my daughter turned 13 and now I'm about to go to the dealer on Friday.
