I would have guessed it may be a typo but judging from the price it's not No one has done more then that in their C7 have they?
Unless you're using $100 dollar bills for toilet paper, I don't understand why someone would drive the crap out of a new Corvette and take an almost 50% depreciation in the first year??

Certainly can't deny that this person has gotten some of the best use of their C7! Good for him/her!!
Would be interesting to know lots of details on how the car held up, any part failures, avg tire life over 2-3 sets, MPG life to date, etc.

I would think it was business miles that was written off or paid for by the business. I do about the same mileage, 60K - 70K, a year for my job but I do it in a regular car, not my Vette. I buy a new Toyota every year for that and my mileage reimbursement more than pays for the car and depreciation.

At 70 mph that would come to just under 1000 hours of driving or 41 solid days in the car on the highway. Considering its not possible to only drive 70 mph that's going to be quite a bit more hours in that car. Maybe a rental car or traveling salesman.

No way is it a rental car. A luxury rental like that is just not rented enough to put 70K miles a year on it. I would be he/she was a salesman of some kind.
Just from a comfort standpoint, I don't think I could put that many miles on my Vette. I put less miles in 8 years of my C6!!!

That's a lot of driving! Even in a fun car like the Corvette Stingray. Assuming the previous owner used it for business, five days per week, that would average to 269 miles a day!
I used to commute 110 miles round trip and really began to hate driving on the weekends, even my Corvette. Too many close calls to even count over the years...

The good news is, you can't put that many miles on driving around town in stop and go traffic. Probably 90% highway miles which are much easier on the car.

Cars are depreciating assets and the only way to truly get your value out of a car - any car - is to drive it. Few cars appreciate....
I put about 1,000 miles per month on an old Ferrari.... and have more than 600,000 miles in Corvettes over the past 26 years.
Bought my C7 about a month and a half ago and have 7,000 miles on it already.
It's a car - drive it. No one ever said on his death bed, "I wish I'd driven the _____ less."

Well he certainly got his use of it, better than keeping it 6 years driving it 1000 miles a year, never in the rain, etc.
Either way you are going to lose money. Your choice on how and when.

About 6k mostly all on the weekend during the week it stays nice in my garage and yup it is in mint condition..I would get NO joy putting it in 6th on the highway, setting the cruise control, burning 93 gas and racking 200+miles a day on it picking up hundreds of stone chips and then park it in the hot Florida sun for 8 hours at work. My car of course has NO warranty..there's getting use out of your car and then there's stupidity.. When I did have a long commute to work I had a 4cylinder for that..

Curious.... how many miles do you put on your Vette per year?

Based on my earlier example, if this owner drives 269 miles per day and averaged 60 MPH, that's close to 5 hours per day driving. Ouch! That's a lot of butt time behind the wheel. Perhaps on his death bed, he will wish he drove his C7 8 hours per day!
