Received a call back from gm customer care at the 855 number and they state after their "research" dexos oil is to be used on all 2014-2015 Corvettes and they are unaware of any bulletin in global connect that contradicts that. Privided them the bulletin number and they also claim they cannot find it.

I called the number in the first post and gave the lady reference number. She said she will look into it and get back to me. It's a little annoying that if the document came from GM, you assume the people from that number would have know more.
Anyway, I told that lady the bottom line is I don't care to pay extra for mobil 1 oil change as long as all other dealer is doing it. Not some dealers charge $80, some $30 and some free.
The oil life percent thing will be the next thing I'll ask her. If it's really this much pain, I'll just do it myself from now on.

So is the 2015 factory fill M-1 now for non dry sump cars? Can we get conformation on this? Is GM changing the oil filler caps to say use only M-1? usually when GM changes something contrary to what is printed in the manual they send an updated manual page to paste over the out dated one.

I called the 855 number in the first post, stated that i paid the upcharge for the mobil 1( not that i minded it, just wanted to get some real clarification as to what is right and wrong) the operator did not know what i was talking about so he said he would research it and call me back. Calls me back about 90 mins later and informs me to fax over my bill i had from the dealer and that GM would send me a refund in the mail.

My first service was done at my home dealer in Akron using regular Dexos. I just contacted the dealer here in Naples and gave him the info posted here and he said he was aware of the update.

Just spoke with GM Customer Care
I just spoke with Etta in GM Customer Care. She wasn't aware of the notice to dealers but she read my email and said she had opened up a case and she would investigate. She's going to call my dealer (Thorobred) to verify the charges to be reimbursed and she'll get back to me with the final number by no later than next Monday. Making progress at least. However, it does appear that GM Customer Care agents weren't fully briefed on the notice but after reading some of the previous forum comments, the dealers have been briefed. I'm optimistic this will be resolved.

My question is what the hell is DEXOS? Is it a product or a certification? Can a non syn oil be dexos certified. I use M1 fully synthetic in all my & my family's automobiles. My lift is tied up with winter storage Vettes so when I bought my Buick Lacrosse last month I made it part of the deal that the dealer provide me with an oil and filter change at 500 miles using M1. I figure the first 500 miles can give it a little break in then do the M1 for the rest of its life. When I went for the change the service manager said Dexos was as good as M1 and he would have to charge me extra. I explained the deal and told him just to charge the sales dept.
Service manager could not tell me and internet searches did not answer my question. BTW, I cannot believe I am driving a BUICK as a family car. Fully loaded, listed for 50k and I could not resist the 20% deal Buick had. 10K off with no haggling. The car is just fantastic. Just a heads up on Buick. Thanks, Mike

this thing doesn't exist until I can produce a copy of it and hand it to the write up guy....people are forgetting GM is a huge company with mucho complexity holding up movement down to the dealer network...only an insider knows the true status. I am staying away from an oil change and any dealer until I can produce written directions on how to complete this knotty oil change.

I think you can figure a month before this trickles down to everyone, including GM internal staff. A service manager does not look at his emails every day and it may be 3 weeks since he's seen a C7 in his shop....
