Mobil 1 Use ONLY

You are sure lucky down south, I just had my 2015 Stingray in for it's first oil changed and asked for my standard Mobil 1. The Service manager stated that un the new Chevy Complete Care Program the only oil approved is DEXTROS and Chevrolet hasn't licensed Mobil 1 as of yet.
So if you wish to void the warranty (Canada) where we don't have any laws to protect us then use the crappy Chevy Semi Syn oil.

Dexos is a specification of oil and yes, Chevrolet/GM uses a dexos SEMI-synthetic blend.. Not acceptable. I use ONLY full synthetic, that just happens to be Mobil 1.
Why would Canada be any different in regards to Mobil 1 FULL synthetic?
Curious.

That would be DEXOS, dextros without the e is sugar.

The 2014-2015 Chevrolet Complete Care Program for Corvettes was designed to take into account the preferred Mobil 1 oil choice of many Corvette owners. As a reminder, dealers are required to use Mobil 1 when performing oil changes on ALL 2014-2015 Corvettes through the Chevrolet Complete Care Program. Current reimbursement levels for Corvette are based on Mobil 1 usage. Please remind all personnel that only Mobil 1 should be used. In addition, please refer to GlobalConnect message # G_0000205212 for details on dry sump equipped (Z51, Z52, and Z06) Corvettes.
In the event a customer paid an upcharge for Mobil 1 under the Chevrolet Complete Care Program, customers should be directed to contact Chevrolet Customer Service representatives, socialmedia@gm.com, for assistance on reimbursement.

If anyone is looking for a great service advisor in AZ, get with Gordon Bradford at Autonation Chevrolet in Gilbert. He's been fantastic to work with on my 2015 Z-06.

Apparently the Global Connect number referenced above isn't as easy to reference for dealerships. My service advisor wanted me to let the forum know to reference the following documents. Document Id is 4212517 and PIP5290A, with either of those numbers a GM rep will be able to find the bulletin.

Must be an AutoNation thing. Just took my 2100 mile '15 in for its 1st oil/filter change at AutoNation Chevrolet in Peoria. I had researched customers' comments on Chev service dept's and this one far outshone all others on the west side (Purchased at another local dealer, will never go back).
Observed the entire process, to include the supervisor bringing out a case+1qt. of Mobil1. They also completed a multipoint inspection and gave the car a clean bill of health.
Service advisor is Alex Perez, and Joe supervises the oil/lube area.
Look forward to receiving the customer satisfaction survey.

So after one local dealer refusing to give me Mobil 1, I did my own 500 mile oil change. I'm now trying another local dealer. I sent Chevrolet Customer service a PM here telling them where and when I'm bring my car in for service. I figured I'll let them explain to the dealer that I'm entitled to Mobil 1. I also got the Mobil1 oil cap and sticker as well as a copy of the G_0000205212 service bulletin ..lol.
The dealer is already asking me what my oil life percent is. Does anyone have a service bulletin # or info that states that we are allowed to get an oil change no matter what oil life percentage is?? Thanks

It fit with zero modification, the cap is identical to the stock C7 dry-sump cap with the exception of the Mobil1 logo instead of DEXOS.
I picked it up for $18.41 shipped from Rockauto (after 5% discount code); this is the cheapest I could find it without having Amazon Prime. I ordered it late Thursday afternoon and it arrived Monday.
Just got it, perfect fit Amazon prime price was $14.87. Amazon.com: ACDelco FC215 GM Original Equipment Engine Oil Filler Cap: Automotive
Edit: IMO if you're buying one of these to look "from the factory" OEM, the only option should be the above. The fancier/different M1 caps look aftermarket and may fail in the intended effect.

Many Mobil 1 oil cap posts... Even in this thread (post 586), as above. Only fits the dry sump cars though (Z51/Z06).

Looked up the ACDelco FC215 GM Original Equipment Engine Oil Filler Cap on Amazon, says it not competiable with a 2016?

I will repeat, the FC215 (or FC211) DOES fit all dry sump 2014-2016 C7: Z51 and Z06.
It does NOT work with C7 wet sumps (unless you modify the fill opening in the driver's side).

Also, as written in the previous oil cap posts, the Amazon compatibility data is not reliable. This is true of the oil cap and C7 applications. This oil cap fits many models...including C7.

When I took my 2015 non-Z51 in for an oil change at 4,000 miles. No hassles about the mileage, but when I asked for Mobil 1 the service guy said the customer care change only covered dexos. I explained what I had read on the forums, but he was relentless and used dexos (dexos 1, not a full synthetic). I went home printed some of the "official" looking posts to this thread, took my car back in and told them I wanted the dexos out and Mobil 1 put in. The service manager was in and was very surprised at the documentation I had. She said she had never been told or received this information. She asked to make copies of my paperwork and was happy to do a new change with Mobil 1. She added that she was surprised that GM was now saying dexos on the oil cap, since Mobil 1 has been the choice for Corvettes for several years. She said it would clear up everything if they would use a Mobil 1 only cap.
