Default C7 ZO6 Brakes

Hi there I have a 2015 ZO6 3LT that I just love BUT my brakes squeak at all stop light especially when braking slowly. This sucks when your driving a new $95000 car! Dealer thinks it will go away after 1000 miles I think he is wrong . Any new ZO6 owners experiencing this problem?

No, you're the only one....but, I can fix it. Just leave it with me for a week or two. I'll even do it for free.

I am having the same problem with my brakes squealing. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow for the first 500 mile oil change and will ask them about it. Kind of embarrassing when you pull up to a car show or Cars and Coffee and your brakes are squealing on your brand new $100k car!

It's not just the Z06 that does it and there have been plenty of threads about Z51s doing it as well. Try searching for "brake squeal" and do a bit of reading

(cliff notes: dealer may not be able to fix it)

Might even ask in the Z06 (not ZO6) forum.

My new Z isn't doing this thankfully, but I've heard of some others that do.

If it doesn't go away, put some Carbotech 1521 brakes pads on it. I've run those on multiple vettes and have never had noise with them.

They also dust about 90% less than the stock pads (not counting the Z07 brakes which are different animals).

Default 2015 ZO6 Squeaky Brakes

I started to get the same issue at 1000 miles on my 2015 ZO6! It happens when I am braking at 10mph-5mph to a stop light. Definitely embarrassing for a $97k car and now has 1238 miles on it...

Just do a couple 60-0 runs and you'll be fine

Just brake harder-I used to have a 911 turbo that I tracked and ran pagid Orange pads-they squealed like a midtown bus in rush hour traffic. That was noisy but I didn't care.

Assuming you're past the initial 100 miles or so, do some hard stops will help but if you're usually easing to stops, brake squeaking is pretty common.

Pure street use will cause this, just do a brake bedding procedure and it will go away, do it whenever it happens. There is nothing dealer can do, it will come back so better off not letting them mess with it.

Yep, hard braking will eliminate it, but be sure to warn your passenger what you are doing first if you have one in the car with you! I know this from experience!
