Default This Is Not A Chevrolet...

I have just had the C7 a few days and GM might have given Cadillac some of Corvettes engines but it appears Cadillac has given Corvette some of its luxury and know how. You can really see the cross over engineering going on between the GM divisions now and all I can say its about time. This aint no Chevrolet my friends I see alot of Caddy in this cars DNA and thats good. Even the seat emblems are right from cadillac.

Cadillac, I hope not. I always equated Cadillac with senior conservative owners.

It's not your daddy's Cadillac! I'm liking that new CTS-V.

This is what I mean the CTSV and Corvette are now obvious kissing cousins.

Well think about it. They are both looking for younger owners. Corvette's demographic and Cadillacs are very similar and both are looking for a younger audience.

The reality is that Chevy is building far better vehicles lately. The highest rated car by Consumer Reports (until the latest Tesla) was a Chevy (Impala, I think).

I always liked that, at least since the C5 if not before, it is a "Corvette" first. The word "Chevrolet" does not appear anywhere on the car, and the bowtie is absent as well except for a tiny one in the crossed flags.

Glad they got rid of the GM chicklets. I would've just removed them like on the C6 anyway.

Default Old guys like cool cars too

I am about to turn 55 years of age and I love driving both my C7 Stingray and my 09 CTS4 depending on the season and weather. Both great cars, even for us old guys.

I thought that the Magnetic Ride came from Cadillac. I know that it was licensed to Ferrari.

I think I've made the same comparison to Cadillac, but I didn't mean it as a compliment. That's the primary reason we have an almost 3,500 pound Corvette.

what would you rather prefer? An Ariel Atom , Lotus Exige, Ferrari FXX ?
C'mon man, a 3500 lb corvette in the age of govt mandated nannies and safety equipment is pretty lithe. a 460 HP track eating beauty with a beastly V8 is unbeatable!

That's definitely not today's Cadillac! They are putting out some incredible cars and are absolutely 180 degrees from the land yachts they produced in the 70's, 80's, and even 90's.

The ATS-V is a beast! I'd rather have a C7 but except for it, a Cadillac would be on my radar.

Chevy stepped it up. All of their vehicles are better.

The 2005 base C6 coupe, 6.0L 400hp, curb weight was 3179. The 2014 C7 6.2L 460hp is 3298, a 119-lb or 3.7% increase.

The C6 was 7.9 lbs/hp. The C7 is 7.2 lbs/hp.

And some of that weight was required given the amenities the C7 now has. You can't add stuff without adding weight. I think they did a pretty good job considering. I certainly wouldn't want to give up electric windows or seats.

Didn't Cadillac pioneer the 4~8 V8 engine?
