Thank you
Cannot believe it took me so long to fix it. The manual certainly didn't help. In a nutshell, turns out the culprit was the way I set the "easy exit." So easy I will let my enthusiastic daughter explain it for you! Hope this helps someone out, because it was driving me crazy not having the seat/steering wheel go to the presets I set! Enjoy!

The memory set procedure has changed for 2015.
After adjusting your seat, wheel, and mirror positions you now press the set button first to get one beep; you then press the number 1 or 2 button, depending on which fob you art setting, to store the positions in memory. You then get a confirmation by hearing two beeps. The video is correct for 2014 where both buttons are pressed at the same time
It's all on page 3-4 of the 2015 owner's manual.
You do not have to turn off the memory, and recall in settings prior to making the adjustments. Changes to your memory settings can be made as you drive. If you find a more comfortable setting for your seat, steering wheel, or mirrors just press the set button and wait for the beep, then press the appropriate button, 1 or 2, for the fob that is active. The same holds true for your exit position to be changed.

Thanks, Ed. Couldn't get my hands on a 2015 owner's manual online. I tried setting them that way in my 2014 and of course they didn't work that way. You are correct in that you don't have to turn those settings off prior to making changes, but the key part was making that "easy exit" change so she explained it EXACTLY like we did it to get repeatable results. I have made changes to my mirrors while driving and saved them as well. Thanks again for the update on the 2015 procedure!

This is great, and I will follow her directions, but....what about all those replies from GM Customer Service stating, "your system is working as it should" when we all complained about the poor design? Shouldn't GM reps have known about the 'Ginger' process from the start????

One would think. I have heard there might be a "software fix" as well. I wonder if the software just limits how far the seat goes back so it won't go all the way to the stops, allowing the function to work correctly. Hmmm.

Great job explaining that. It will surely help many others that have had that problem.

I also can change and set my 2014 M7 October 2013 delivery while I'm driving. Press the set button then the memory button. Know the manual says press both but if I press the memory button quickly after the set button it beeps and sets.

I just spent 20 minutes in my car with computer following the instructions, did not work for me. Maybe because mine is manual. When both seat settings are set to "on" and I open the door the seat moves to the driving position before I can get in. If I turn off auto memory recall at least the seat won't return to the driving position before I get in but I still have to hold the #1 button in until the seat moves to where I have it set. Has anyone else had this work with a 7sp.
