Not a $20 cap but this works and you have a selection to choose from. Used it on my 2014 Z51.

Maybe cut and glue one of these stickers to the base cap?

That is assuming that the techs know (and read the work order). A cap that gives one more layer of assurance seems a small price to me.

wait, wait, wait. You guys are buying these because you think its gong to make a tech realize he needs to put mobil 1 in your car??? I thought this was just for looks or preference!! So, the tech is supposed to know to put mobil 1 in vettes, but if not he is supposed to read the manual, and if he doesn't read that he's supposed to read the bulletins, and if he doesn't, you think he'll pay any attention to what the cap says????? Come on guys, no one is going to read the cap and think ONLY mobil one should go under the cap. Its not like a diesel to unleaded situation, any oil "can" go in as far as some techs are concerned...

The guys who do oil changes are not techs. And I doubt most can read. That's why they are changing oil. And why I change my own even if the dealer offers it for free. Changing the cap for that reason is a waste of money.

That's great for you, but not everyone is in a position to do that for themselves.

I dont have it backwards at all. If you think the guy changing the oil pays attention to what's written on the cap, that's fine, but I know otherwise. Oil is oil to them, they don't give a rats a$$ cause it's not their car. Unless you tell them each and every time you go, right before they start the job, you're prob not going to get Mobil 1 IF HE DOESNT ALREADY HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE TO PUT MOBIL 1 IN THE CORVETTE. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the cap is for show, for you, not so the tech can know what to use. Get a cap that says something like "evergreen oil" and see if the tech comes to you and says, sorry sir, we don't have evergreen oil.... the cap is for show boys.

My dealer says that they put in what is on the cap. That is the reason I got Dexos first time, not Mobil1. But I did have yellow label on cap saying 9.2 QTS. Not sure it helped, but fill was right in middle of range.

The inevitable sniping begins - thread going south fast LOL
Funny how the mere good intention of providing information to those who may be interested about what part fits degenerates into a contentious discussion about what oil is used by a dealer, the reading level of a service tech, and ridiculing the judgement of others. Seems just about all threads wander off-topic after about the first page.....

.......... And "you're welcome" to those who appreciated it and took the time to say so.
No promises but if someone with a non Z51 cap will post pictures from different angles of their oil cap, I'll do my best to find a part number for those.

Anyway, I didn't say it wasn't a cool thing to do, but wanted to correct those that were doing it for specific reasons not including appearance. Of course a dealer/service manager or worker is going to say they do everything the way their supposed to, they'll get in trouble otherwise, but ask a service tech, or a worker THAT YOU KNOW PERSONALLY and they will be honest with you. I was honest with you and have the knowledge of MOST attitudes in the industry. Some dealers are different obviously, but all they are are workers. They do what needs to get done and nothing more. Like I said, gettin the cap looks better than the original one, plus most of us use Mobil 1 so that's cool, but if you're one of the ones getting it cause you want the guy changing your oil to read it, you're better off just saying hi when he takes your car and saying, "you're putting in Mobil 1 right?" That will do much better than an oil cap...

Ps. Let's think about this statement. So if you kept the dexos cap on, he'll still put dexos in even though NOW gm's policy is Mobil 1 on these cars??? See what I mean? The cap means nothing. It's the knowledge of the worker that matters... The cap is for you, for appearance...
