I didn't like the factory options. For less than $5.00 at Home Depot, I came up with this.

Each to his own; I like it better with the full Aeroplate. I seriously doubt that the small bracket on either side significantly affects air flow. You are suppose to take the entire bracket off (which would include the plate) when you track the car........to improve air flow.

Use the Aeroplate holder that came with the car. I personally do not like the looks of the "high mounted holder". If you want to use that holder I think I would paint it Laguna Blue. IMHO

Check your state laws for front license display. Some have minimum height requirements. Get an overzealous LE officer and you may wind up with a ticket.

Thank you Florida for no front plate requirement.

Yah, I agree with you. I'm gonna take it down, use the Aeroplate and take my chances with the Arlington and Alexandria LE.

Are you sure there is a minimum plate height requirement in VA? I could find nothing on line that indicated that, just a requirement for both plates to be displayed.

Even if there is, as long as it's displayed, I highly doubt a cop is going to pull you over and measure it. The height difference between the nose wart and the aeroplate is very little, but the esthetic difference is gigantic.

Another thing to consider is that original plate holder is very likely scratching a line in the clear-coat at the top of the holder. The longer you leave it on there, the deeper the scratch will be.

Of course we all know that the aero bracket per GM is not intended to be used as a license plate bracket.

Where did you get the front license plate frame that was already carbon flash metallic?

I have never seen the high mounted plate installed...
It is an atrocious assault and battery on the beauty of the car...
Please install the aeroplate and throw that pos in the trash!

Not much help unless you tell us how you did it!
Photo does not really show if you mounted it through the grille or from under the bumper.

It's mounted under the bumper, using two of the existing screws. I put vinyl washers between the bracket and the bumper.

So are those corner braces or what? Did you paint them black or did they come that way?

I used 8" X 1.5" flat stock, that I bent at two different angles. I painted them black, then glued the plastic washers to the brackets. The license plate and frame, are both bent at 20 degrees, to match the angle of the nose of the car.

Nice job. I am glad I started this thread, we have come up with some really good looking approaches. Those state that do not require two plates don't understand our plight. I don't need a ticket for missing a plate. Plus, I don't think it looks that bad if done correctly,
