Default Try to catch me

This is my first post. I love to read about everyone's experience & knowledge. Now to my point . I have a 14 aw 2 lt red int. live in Maryland so we have a lot of salt on our roads.i went into my garage to run my car's for about 15 minutes or so, while I was in my c3 my c 7 took off out of my garage down my driveway out into the street and into my neighbors driveway accros the street thank GOD she missed everything. 7 speed ,parking break was on, somehow the doors locked with key inside. Does anyone know if you run your car a certain amount of time if the parking break releases on it's own .scared the life out of me. Still must be my lucky day.

Wow. Interesting first post; you are very lucky indeed.

Why were you running the car? Don't you have another key fob?

edit: P.S., Thedofuss, is that you?

You don't live in a haunted house do you?
Tell us exactly what went through your mind for those few seconds. If it were me, I couldn't justify it on paper but I'd bet it would make a great read.

Parking brake should stay on when set. I'd get a dealer to check it out.
BTW, glad you didn't hit anything.

Stays on till released or car moves by engine engage forces it to release

So, it was in neutral (not park???) and running and you were out of the car. How long was it running before it rolled away? No offense, but I gotta believe the parking brake was not engaged. Bottom line, it shouldn't have happened.

Are you saying it somehow slipped into gear when it did this or are you just saying that it was in neutral and gravity works? Either way that doesn't sound right but hard to prove to the dealer service.

A quick search showed this:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ke-recall.html

Perhaps, this affects your car.

Better to either drive it or not start it at all.

Are you aware of the fact that there is a recall on 14's for the parking brake? Call your dealer!
