I know ... a thread that has been posted 1,000 times! BUT, I need quick advice as I'm bringing a check to dealer on Saturday. If I buy from member, what do I do? Will I really get $3000 off and from who if I give a member $1500?

At the time of vehicle acquisition you give the dealer your GM card number - they contact GM card, verify your points balance, and deduct that from the final price and document it on the paperwork. Can't speak to buying points from someone else - I've heard that involves them making you a temporary member on their credit card account. Personally, I'd never get involved with that unless it was a trusted family member.
