Default So what's wrong with the factory Nav?

Over the past year I have been reading all sorts of threads on how bad the factory Nav system is. I think its quite good. Did it change between 14 and 15? somehow?

Just got mine working today (they had to replace an Onstar module). Tried it out driving home, and it seemed fine. Had a good route, and I love getting the turn instructions in the HUD. Time will tell how well the POI & traffic options work.

Don't have my Corvette yet, but I ordered the navigation system even though I've never seen a factory navigation system as good as a Garmin. The Garmin just has a lot more features and you can enter data on the fly. Both my Ram truck and Jeep Cherokee lock out certain features while you are moving. One of the best things about a factory navigation system is it has a big screen and its right there in front of you. A phone just isn't as convenient and I think its dangerous for the driver to use one as a navigation system. Sometimes my copilot uses the Iphone to give me directions.

My 200.00 Garmin gets free life time updates. Gm is somewhere around 160.00 a year
My garmin Tells me to make a U turn only twice if i dont follow its choise of route. GM will tell me to make a U turn until I am half way to the destination .
The garmin will learn your preferd route, GM no.
its not worth the 2000.00 it cost.
Its a nice picture to fill the display, even if its wrong but useless.

Mine works great, and I like being able to send destinations directly to it via the app. I think a number of people here just like to complain.

It. Sucks.

Took me 75 miles out of the way on a trip to the Outer Banks of NC. Stupid route. Almost any other nav system is better, including Google, Apple maps, etc. on your iPhone...and they are FREE. My Mercedes nav is 100% more intelligent and much faster. Better route choices and MUCH better graphics and screen design/interaction.

The C7 Nav is smart enough to know when you have a passenger, and will allow access to all levels of all menus. A nice change from the way the C6 nav works.

My 14's Nav works great when I use it. Sometimes it's fun getting lost in this car

Must be something wrong with me, as I have had Garmins for several years, and it always sends me on a wild goose chase. The best I've used so far is Google Maps on my Samsung...

Do you have a lot of experience with the C7 factory navigation system? I suspect not.
