Default Garage Ramps

Hi! While patiently waiting for my car to be built, I have a silly question for you all. My office building's garage is underground and to enter and exit it, you have to go down a fairly steep ramp. Do you any of you park in a garage with entrance and exit ramps? And if so, is the C7's height an issue at the bottom of the ramp?

This will be the lowest ground clearance car I've ever driven and just want to make sure that I don't scrape the front end the first time I drive it to work, which is hopefully sometime in March!

Thanks!

You would have to define fairly steep. I scrape the ground leaving some gas stations because they are "steep" slopes down and the road crowns up right away.

I am going to say about 25 to 30 degrees (guessing)? There are a couple of C6s parked once in a while there. Not too sure if their ground clearance is higher or same as C7.

I have found if you go in at an angle, you reduce the chance of a scrape.

This is 100 percent correct!

25 to 30 degrees coming down to a flat surface will scrape. I can say that with confidence.

The C7 has an angle of approach closer to 10 degrees. If there are C6s parked in the garage then the garage ramp angle is probably a lot less than 25 degrees.

You can download an app called "iSetSquare" for $0.99 and measure the garage ramp angle with your iPhone.

You might want to measure that, because pretty much anything without the approach/departure angle of a Jeep Wrangler won't clear a 25 degree slope.
If a C6 will clear the ramp, then a C7 will as well.

That is a tough question to answer without knowing any specifics.

My stock Z51 will slightly scrape the short vinyl splitters in front of the wheels on most driveways and entrances / exits from surface parking lots and driveways. (Slightly scrape, what I mean is that I can hear a faint noise of vinyl rubbing on asphalt or concrete).

Can you determine the angle of the ramp? Using a dial gauge or something similar?

If you could determine the angle of the ramp, a few dimensions and a measured (scaled) drawing will indicate pretty quick if you will hit or not.

I am a draftsman, it would only take me a few minutes to draw something up based on the clearance below the front splitter and the angle of the ramp.

Without any data, the only true test would be that first time you take it into the garage. If that is the case, take it very slowly and approach at an angle.

Thanks for the all the input! There is another entrance that doesn't have a ramp, but the post where you badge in is at a very awkward angle and the entrance is very narrow! I guess I'll just have to do a trial and error thing on the first day!

A C7 lowered on the stock bolts will not scrape going through the turn 4 tunnel at Daytona which is far steeper than any parking garage I have seen.

When I pull on a friends drive, I hit bottom. I now have to park on the street.

Just talked to a guy who drives a Roush Mustang with body flares and lowered and he uses the side entrance. Said that he may scrape the front end and didn't want to test it! I will probably have to do the same!

Why would anyone do this? Are these houses in a flood plain? So much for, "Go out and play on the driveway". Guess you won't be seeing any basketball hoops above the garage door either.

^^^Probably a undersized lot meeting a front set back or a bad perked property. So many feet above ground water for a septic system.
On topic:If need be, purchase a 2x10 plank and remove and replace each time.Or Westcoast corvette sells a plastic plank type runner for property owners that have a swail type drain at the end of their driveways.First time their have a spotter
