No Geico Mechanical Breakdown on '15 Z51
Just switched insurance and saved $800/year (sounds like an ad right?) Ended up with Geico which I was happy about since I knew they offered their highly reviewed mechanical breakdown. Lots of folks choose this over an extended warranty as it covers pretty much everything and only costs the $250 deductible per incident. I just got a notice stating the following:
"Unfortunately, we are not able offer Mechanical Breakdown Insurance coverage for your 2015 Chevrolet Corvette based on the performance of the vehicle. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you."
I'll call and see if they can override this, but I doubt it. Just an FYI to those of you who might switch thinking this is one of the perks.

oh that really sucks! It was one of the things I was looking forward to!!!!
they didn't offer it on my C5 Z06 and I thought it was because it was an 03 (7 year old car at the time)

They wouldn't do mine either. My Camaro has it but they stated they do not offer it on 2015 Stingrays if it has the Z51 package.

This got me thinking now... Couldn't you have modifications to the car (supercharger, or bolt ons tune etc) and have this? It doesn't say the coverage is void if the engine has been modified?
doesn't say anything about aftermarket parts
Exclusions to this policy include regular maintenance services such as tune-ups, suspension alignment, wheel balancing, filters, lubrication, coolant and fluids, spark plugs, brake pads and linings, brake shoes, and tires. Also, breakdown repairs made necessary by intentional damage, corrosion, misuse, or improper maintenance are not covered. Mechanical Breakdown Insurance coverage is in excess of coverage provided by your manufacturer's warranty. Read the policy amendment for the complete terms and conditions of this coverage.

Yes Z51 is what disqualifies it according to the rep I spoke to.

Geico insurance is not for our cars. Its really meant for the pedestrian-type cars. The Corvette and Camaro is a performance vehicle and will not be covered under their insurance agreement. You should always check about what is specifically covered on a Corvette before you buy the insurance.

Geico has never been friendly to high performance and modded cars, that's why I dropped them years ago even though they're cheap.

I'll give them a call tonight. from my research (found some stuff on evo and mustang forums) they only cover OEM parts. so if your ARH header cracked, that's a nogo. they still replace OEM parts if the vehicle has been modded. I will have to look

They were also VERY quick to respond when we had a flash flood and our entire community got flooded. They replaced our 3 week old G37 (not even 1 payment was made) ASAP. we actually got more for the car than what we paid for it
There were cars swallowed by the flash flood. Craziest thing ever
I should also mention nobody can even come close to what we pay for GEICO. USAA straight up told us they have no idea how we pay what we pay.
Long story short, I have been VERY happy with GEICO, and they never let us down. They'll have my business for a long time.

And I've got a similar story of how they handled my totaled C6. They could not have treated me better. And while I avoid TV commercials with a passion, I love theirs.

State Farm for a long time and always good. How much is someone paying for the Geico Insurance I would like to compare with State Farm, in my research mine has been cheaper.

Lacoven,
That's pretty much a waste of time because there are so many variables. Better to just inquire costs from various insurance companies with your particulars.

The real question here is why " No Geico Mechanical Breakdown on '15 Z51. What do they know about the Z51 package that we don't to make it "mechanically" uninsurable?
