Ride quality 18/19 vs 19/20 inch wheels
I am thinking of ordering a Stingray and am considering the wheels. My car will be lightly equipped, a 2LT with Nav at the most, good chance it will even be a 1LT.
I love the look of the 19/20 inch wheels but am concerned about the difference in ride quality compared to the standard 18/19 setup. Usually I go for the smaller wheels for the better ride, and often the lighter wheels feel nimbler. I do love the design of the bigger wheels, though.
Has anyone driven both and can comment on the difference between the setup, both in terms of handling and ride?

I went from a c6 427 with the 19/20 set up to a c7 2LT with the 18/19. The C7 is hands down better handling and tracks better with the smaller wheel tire set up. The bigger wheels tend to tram line the grooves in pavement.

When ordering mine I was told because of the sidewalls on the run flats it does not matter which you go with. Both are stiff as hell, so get the 19/20 if you like the look. Add: weight is supposedly similar due to how the wheels are made so the taller wheels should have no effect on rotating mass.
As for the tramlining comment, this applies to fatter tires not taller wheels. The actual diameter and width of the base vs ZF1/Z51 tires is nearly identical. I think the base tires were actually a teeny tiny bit taller.

I went from the base 18/19 setup that came with my car and later switched to OEM Z51 19/20 wheels. In my case, the ride quality actually improved, mainly because I went with the Michelin AS/3 non run flats.

Smaller wheels are worse riding
Larger diameter tires roll over pavement gaps, small "pot holes" etc. Smaller diameter tires drop further into these and thus ride much harsher. Think about it, it only makes sense.

You did get a great buy on these wheels. Good move. How do you like the Michelin A/S tires? I expect the ride is much better since they are not runflats.

I really like the AS/3's! The ride is smoother and quieter plus they cost about $400 less a set than the Run Flat SS's. Another benny is they have a 500 tread wear rating vs. 300. If you are not tracking your car it is an excellent all year long tire to have.

Steel belt angles used for BASE C7 emphasize RIDE & treadlife...Z51 angles focus on increased performance & at-the-limit handling.

My thoughts as well. How are things in Murrell's Inlet? We come down each year to MB and always have seafood in Murrell's Inlet.

I know what you mean. I grew up in Fayetteville and Charlotte, NC. Here in western MD it has not reached 32 for 2 weeks with lows near zero. I'm anxious for Spring.

After much consternation, I'm getting Nurburgring 18/19" with Michelin AS/3 for a custom look and the most compliant ride for much less than the appearance package. And it will be even less if I can sell the base wheels and tires. Also not a fan of painted or chrome wheels. The Nurburgring will be machined faced.

That would be true if the tire was actually larger diameter but in this case it probably isn't or it wouldn't fit in the wheel well. Therefore the side wall must be smaller for tires on the larger wheels, and thus the wheel might be more prone to damage from pot holes.
