Get a freaking alignment, people!

A proper alignment will solve all those problems. Cheaper and less likely to cause rim damage.

I've been slammed for doing it so often, but I have also gotten 68,000 miles out of a set of tires, so I just giggle at those who told me I was crazy.

Not a big deal. Flip them and get a little more wear out of them. Maybe years ago the tires would take a set but nowadays they don't. I have PS2 ZPs on my C6Z and flip the tires from side to side several times per year when I switch from street to race back to street when doing track events.

The EMTs and PS2s delivered on C6s were not directional. They had the same outside markings.

Michelin and GM spent a LOT of time and research building a tire specifically for the Corvette. I can't believe they didn't research tire rotation as part of their project. Say what you will about the manual and its quirks, if the manual says rotate then rotation is not only OK, its in the plan. Who knows more about your tires, you or the engineers who built them? I've had tires that wore in the "sawtooth" pattern and its damned annoying. I'll rotate to avoid the problem. Alignment is also important as has been posted. I always aligned my C4 myself, it isn't very hard to do with simple tools. I always got better tire wear than friends who didn't align or paid someone to align for them. ROTATE, my friends.

Since my main high "g" turn is a 270 degree off ramp and some of our rural roads are crowned, will consider swapping side to side at 5000 to 7000 miles. Did not do that on my C6 and the left side front tire was warn perhaps leaving 5000 miles more wear on the others.

I plan on rotating the tires on my 2015, as per the manual.

Switching side to side is just plain stupid. It's an error in the manual.

Anyone with a higher mileage car care to comment on increased tire noise and wear?

Assuming there are not any alignment problems I would think that the side-to-side flip would not make much difference in a street car. I'll see what mine look like when I hit the mileage recommendation.

Ditto, I bought a lifetime alignment for my dually at Firestone. I can get 80K out of a set of Michelin's on that truck which is great because six of those tires are expensive.

Front and back rims are different sizes. But of course you knew that.

The tire manufacturers and GM have surely done a bit of homework on this issue. I think I will go with the manuals recommendation. As with any tire questions, I would search google and check with Discount tire or Tire rack. I know about geology, not about tires. So I will trust those that make their living selling tires.

nope, not needed. As others have said, these are 20-25k tires. Rotating aint gonna change that. You need to understand, GM puts everything that they can think of in the owners manual that they "require" you to do to address any possible issue that may arise. This is a result of 1.) law suit happy people that are ignorant and say "you didn't tell me I had to change my oil and put gas in may car, and now its broke" 2.) so they can deny a claim to an ignorant person and say "yes we did".

Just because its written doesn't make it true.

You must be a tire engineer, so could you please elaborate a bit more on your brilliant statement so the rest of us know-nothings can understand what you know? We'll be waiting. Thanks.

Although I don't see much difference in tire wear after 12K miles...... I have my stock tires off and was just waxing the wheels this weekend....... on some cars I have seen the right side wear a little quicker then the left. I always thought this to be that there is more crap on the right side of the road, gravel uneven pavement and the like but just my theory.

Don't think I'd jack the car up just to change sides on the car but since I'll be pulling off my winter tires in a month or so will "rotate" the summer tires.

BTW no need to switch the TPMS ..... they will learn where they are as soon as you mount the tires or shortly there after.

Not really. It would only have a benefit if swapping front to back. Which you can't do!

the wheel vendors (and me) have found about 20% of the correct part # TPMS sensors don't auto-calibrate for some reason. Here's how you fix it without going to the dealer:
