Newbie here- you saw that most were base models- not Z51s- how do you tell the difference from a glance at a distance? What should I be looking for to know base from Z51? I have a Z51 built and ready to ship to a Louisville dealership when the snow finally clears.

We certainly have a lot of Vettes here!!! I have always modified my Vettes so my car would be a little different than everyone else!
Our great weather and flat roads make it great for sports cars, so we have lots of them.

Last week we had 5 C7 ZO6's and 4 C7's in the shop looked like a Chevy Dealership!
Next time you guys are down come visit us!

Interesting. 93 octane availability a plus, or ethanol free.
But excessive insects, constant bug spray protection. 30s or 40s mornings, 50s or 60s after work. 90s to 100s summers with 90 humidity starting in the early morning.
Tropical thunderstorms with excessive wind, like walking out into a very large shower.
Land of ignorance, monster trucks, Harleys, ricers with broken exhausts, retirees and drug users.
Fairly stupid drivers who can legally talk on cell phones while operating a motor vehicle, fat wide white paint stripes at stoplights, lessening the grip on the already oil slick roads. Lack of freeway access.

Bugs the size of Godzilla, mold and mildew that eats your flesh at night, poisonous snakes, toads and plants, oh and of course zombies.

yup they are all over down here, at least half I see have out of state plates ( snowbirds)
In the past year I have been asked to show my car 5 times at a nearby parking lot to someone from up North that can't see the real thing at his local dealer...
I DO NOT see most base cars, it's more or less equal
seems like most are Laguna or Torch.....
and as far as C7 knowledge, it is "paradise " as we have Lashway and Redline shops a stones throw away, you can't ask for two better shops that will help....

2015 C7 of the Year Finalist
I just got back from 4 days in Florida and I was blown away by how many C7s I spotted! Here in the Toronto area I've only seen maybe 10 of them on the road since they came out, but in the first three hours in Florida I saw 11 of them! The first one was a nice black convertible with Ohio plates on it (they said BIGSPNDR), I talked to the owner, he was a super nice guy, said he traded an 08 for it and he loves it! That was at a rest stop along Alligator Alley, and just a few minutes after seeing that one, I spotted 5 C7s travelling together. I spent the first day in Cape Coral and Fort Myers, and once I got there I didn't see as many C7s as I did C6s, but for the rest of my visit there I was in Sunny Isles and Miami and that's where I was seeing C7s left right and center! I was surprised that most of the ones I saw there weren't Z51s but mostly base models.
I arrived and departed Florida via Fort Lauderdale airport, and also spent a little bit of time driving through there and ate dinner at the Outback there, and was secretly hoping to run into Glen e while I was there, but I realized the chances of spotting him were slim!
I just love all of Florida, my wife and I definitely plan on spending our winters here when we retire, most likely in Naples, but we'd be equally happy on the east coast

We have 15 of the C7s in the Jacksonville Corvette Club!

Yup, this place sucks. If you live here you might want to move to Massachusetts and if you don't live here, then I'd suggest, for your safety and welfare, that you stay where you're at forever. Do not come down here! It is dangerous! Growing old is not for sissies!

It's mostly 40+ I'd say floating around 55. I actually haven't seen a ~30 year old C7 driver yet and I see corvettes just about every day
Since I'm from South Florida I payy attention to the location of members on here by their names, you wouldn't believe how many South Florida members are here posting away.

Nice place to live for late Fall/Winter. Ideal set-up is to have another Summer residence. All the jokes about heat, humidity, bugs, crowds in the Spring/Summer are not jokes they are facts.
