What is average wait time for 2015 C7
I ordered my C7 last Monday (2/23/15) and put the down payment. Salesman said "It was now in the system" Nothing special, just a vert with a couple of simple options. Said he really couldn't give me a delivery date, but I would at least like "some idea" of how long it takes. Guy really wasn't much help
Thanks

Well...do not take this the wrong way but if your salesman was not very helpful at the "get-go" is not a good start.
Your salesman should be very knowledgeable in the whole C7 order process.
Read some of the other threads concerning this topic.
Not being a wise guy, just hate to see you get off on the wrong foot.

Rumor has it that base Corvettes are all but forgotten on the assembly line. Due to the overwhelming Z06 demand, they are about the only model being produced. I would be all over your sales guy to get you status updates and the all important TPW (Target Production Week) as this is the timeframe when the car will be built.
Your order is probably sitting at status code 1100, Order place by Dealer. When you get to 3000, Order accepted for Production, is when you know your car is being built.
Here are the other status codes:
1000 Order On Hold at Dealership
1100 Order Placed at Dealership
1101 Order Entered into System
1102 Order Entered via Web
2000 Order Accepted by Chevrolet
2001 Order Generated to Dealer
2005 Order Replaced with GM Prospec Order
2030 Order Edited by Chevrolet
2050 Order Changed
2500 Order Preferenced (or "Picked Up" or "Imaged"), Sent to Production
3000 Order Accepted by Production Control
3100 Order Available to Sequence (now becomes more stable)
3300 Order Selected and Scheduled for Production by Assembly Plant (Target Production Week usually available now)
3400 Order Broadcasted for Production (Internal Plant Order Produced)
3800 Vehicle Produced
4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
4104 Bailment Invoice Created
4B00 Bayed ("B", not 8)
4106 Bailment Released
4150 Vehicle Invoiced (Dealer Billed)
4200 Vehicle Shipped
4300 Intermediate Delivery
4V03 Estimated Delivery Date
4800 Rail Ramp Unload
5000 Vehicle Delivered to Dealer
6000 Vehicle Delivered to Customer
9000 Order Cancelled
Good luck and hopefully your car will be here soon!

I ordered my Z51 3LT on 12/24/14 from Les Stanford. I got an 1100 code. A few days later Dennis updated me with the 2000 code. His conservative estimate was it would be produced by late Feb.
The car was produced on 1/30 and arrived in Florida on 2/9.
Use a big dealer and confirm your status code otherwise you are probably wasting your time.

Average wait is mostly dependent on the allocations provided to your dealer. If they have an open allocation for a Corvette, you can quickly get in the process. Once your order has been accepted, the **typical** times lately have been in the 7-9 week range. Depending on where you live and how frequently Corvettes are shipped to your area, you may be waiting to receive the vehicle from Bowling Green.
If your dealer does not have an allocation, you will be waiting until they receive one. That process could take weeks or even months.
I am personally looking at about a 7-8 week timeline, but this was because my dealer had an immediate available allocation. I went from order placed to order accepted in just 2 days.
1/27/2015 Order placed
1/29/2015 3000
2/4/2015 3000 with a TPW of 3/2/15
2/11/2015 3000
2/18/2015 3300
2/25/2015 3400

Bottom line is.....IF your dealer has the allocation......and your car doesn't have nay constraints......and depending where you are located......the weather may be an issue. BUT if none of those things don't hold you up......STANDARD AVERAGE WAIT TIME is roughly 8 weeks from Order to Arriving at your dealer.

It can take light years to get your car. Mine was produced on 2/20 and is sitting in B. G. with no known shipping date. Production was normal. ordered 12/31 went to 2000 on 1/20 and 3000 on 1/30 or there a bouts. got a TPW of 2/16 ( see thread ) and then the snow storm hit the area and closed everything down for a couple of days, see Joe Stingray's post. As cars got built some were shipped and some sent to Spring Hill while others ended up in the B. G. lot. GM has been having a paper work issue and information coming from chat and Chevy Customer Service thread has been sketchy at best. Even info from Jack Cooper Transportation is not up to their normal level.
But, your salesman sounds like a dolt, you can get on line with Chevy Chat and get info as to if your order is placed. You will need and order number from your sales guy as this is needed to track.
You can find Chevy Chat in several places, one is www.chevroletchat.com.
I wish you well and happy hunting!
