How about more information on your C7.

Namely;
1, 2 or 3 LT?
Z51 or ZF1?
Manual or Automatic?
Performance Exhaust?

Thanks

I owned a 2008 Jaguar XK convertible. I found it to be the most beautiful automobile I had owned up to that point. The car was Indigo Blue, with matching blue top and beige interior. I loved that car (until all the electrical gremlins started playing with my head). Dash would go dark, heater relays would fry, electric top would go halfway down and stop (would have to be lowered/raised manually). A brand new battery would completely drain overnight, but then not, but then it would, but then not.

The car dealer kept telling me they could not "duplicate the problem".

I ultimately traded that car on my 2012 C6 coupe. Best deal I ever made in my life.

Oh, and I did a CarFax check on the car a year or so after I sold it. At that point the car had been through two more owners of just a few months each.

I Guess your XK has not had these problems and if that is the case, I am truly happy for you. As for me, I will never buy another Jaguar...

Never had any problems with the Jaguar XKR......many of the issues mentioned in your post are all battery related. That is why I keep a CTEK smartcharger connected to the Jaguar 100% of the time when not driving it. Same with the Porsche and Corvette C7. All on smartchargers 100% of the time when not in use.

Awesome collection!

If you had to pick between owning just the cayman or the corvette, which one would you pick?

That was a hard decision for me. Granted, my budget for my car was 50k, so it was base cayman vs base corvette, and the corvette came with more things standard. The cayman I wanted was around 65k! I just got NPP and competition seats on my 1LT, but with the supplier discount my C7 came out to be around 47k!

Both are fantastic cars though, you are lucky to have both

Handling ride and quality build and paint goes to the Porsche Cayman 981

Overall sports car features with terriffic beauty for the price goes to the Corvette C7.

I love all 3 of these magnificent sports cars. They are all decidedly different from each other.

Interesting overview of the 3 cars.

I chose the Stingray over the Porsche Cayman S and the F-Type Jaguar.

I was actually waiting more for the Coupe F-Type than the Stingray. Initially I thought I would be getting the F-Type. However after many hours of comparison the Stingray won.

The F-Type to me looked a bit better, had better paint, and nicer looking interior. The Stingray was more comfortable. Over all performance the stingray was it for me. Then the cost aspect, you get a lot more for your money in terms of value with the stingray.

100% with the above. For the price point the Corvette Stingray C7 provides an outstanding value compared to the F-Type.

If the F-type coupe was closer in price it would have been on my scope. That's a stunning car but the vette out performs it, is far less cash and is stunning as well.

Op awesome collection of cars and it looks like you seldom have a rain day to worry about getting them dirty.

cheapthrills:

Yes, the Jaguar F-Type is a great car, but IMO overpriced for the product. The 2015 Stingray is very hard to beat especially working from the base model upward. It is a great value for what GM provides.

Here in Southern New Mexico the amount of rain is very limited and we get sunshine some 350 days a year. Thanks for the compliment on the cars, as they are all very special rides, yet all very different.

Yes Cheapthrills, we have some great roads and some great mountain road driving which makes all 3 of these vehicles great to drive. Driving on the highways or interstate roads, the Jaguar XKR is pure luxury.

Your welcome Mitch. I wanted to be honest and subjective with the ratings. Of course these are my personal observations. Each of the 3 vehicles are different from each other, but as my rating states, the Corvette C7 is the best value of all 3. GM certainly built this car right, and it's why they outsell the Jaguar XKR and Porsche Cayman 981 by a long shot. My only disappointment with the C7 is the paint finish, but mine is not that bad. The price point on the C7 is so compelling for making a purchase over the Porsche or Jaguar brands.

All of our automotive loves are subjective. I love the C7, but my favorite car to drive is our R56 mini JCW. It is a street legal gokart that drives like it is glued to the road. Best twisty car I have ever driven. Once again street legal factory stock, and less than 1/2 the price of our C7. But, for sheer driving pleasure and an incredibly beautiful, sleek car that turns heads and has blistering acceleration nothing can compare with the C7 for anywhere near the price.

I sell for MINI of Bedford (NH). Have owned 5 of them including a JCW Hard Top. I also own a 3 series BMW and a '14 C7. I was once asked what was more fun...the MINI of the Corvette. I said they are both fun....but each are a different kind of fun. It's great to hear your feeling on that subject. Happy Motoring!

We are scheduling a competition driving course with Miles Ahead at the Indianapolis Speedway in June. It will be on the actual speedway and they are supposed to have the new F56 JCW for the event. I have been looking very seriously at the new one, sort of have the bug, but want to drive it to be sure before ordering. The power to weight ratio is what sort of had me thinking about sticking with the 2012 that we have, but...... And, we are still holding out hope for a Grand Sport version of the C7. Too many toys!
