Default Great $10 mod.

I wanted my C7 to look a little different so I put on this hood strip. I ordered matte black vinyl on ebay for about $10 (free shipping from China), cut it to size, and put it on by myself. It's not prefect but no one else would look that close.

Great cheap mod. Looks good to me. Was it easy?

It was fairly easy. The piece I ordered was 60 x 24 inches. I basically laid the piece black side down and drew the V right above the vent then marked how wide it should be at that end. I left some overage so I could cut it down easier on the sides then marked and cut the top. Once it's cut it's really easy to put on. Just peel off the backing, spray the car and the sticky side of the vinyl with water with a bit of soap mixed in, and squeegee out the water once you have it in place. I did have to use a blow drier for the top and bottom edges to get it dried off enough to stick. I also didn't drive it to work today so it could dry some more. As I said it's not perfect but for $10 it looks great.

Looks as good to me as the factory stripe. For only $10 I'll probably try it. Thanks for showing.

Would there be any damages after say a few years if I wanted to take off this overlay?

10 dollars well worth it.

Looks great. The real test will be how it looks at the end of the summer after the sun hits it for a few months. Great job doing the install!
