Will C6 Gumby's fit a base C7???
OK, I've asked this before and didn't get any definitive answer from someone who actually tried to put C6 Gumby's on a base C7 so here I go again.
I'll be selling my C6 in the near future to buy a 2016 C7 and have two sets of wheels. One set, the original 5 spoke wheel, I'm sure will NOT fit a C7 because of lack of clearance between the spokes and the calipers. So I'm considering putting the original 5 spoke wheels on the C6 when I sell it and keeping the Gumby's for a second set of winter tires on the C7. IF THEY WILL FIT.
.
The original 5 spoke wheel:
Seems to me that the design of Gumby wheel has a much smaller inner hub and the spokes "bow" out as much as is probably possible on the 18" front and 19" rear wheels. I know that the offsets for the C6 and C7 18"/19" wheels are almost identical (1 mm difference) so that's not an issue.
C6 Rear Gumby
C6 Z51 front rotor = 13.4 inches C7 front rotor base = 12.6 inches
C6 Z51 rear rotor = 13 inches C7 rear rotor base = 13.3 inches
So that doesn't seem to be a problem since there is lot of rotor clearance on the C6 rears.
So it seems to me that they should fit the base C7.
Does anyone have actual experience putting C6 Gumby's on a base C7????

It's not diameter that you have to worry about, it's the caliper width.

Walt.....I have to ask a question......do you know anyone at all that has a C7?? if so, could you ask them to allow you to test fit one of your wheels to see if they would fit? seems like an easy solution.

Unfortunately, I do not. I'm amazed that no one has tried this. I actually like the Gumby's over what's offered for the C7 now. Hoping for a new wheel, that I like, in the 2016.

Called Bob,
He said the rears "might" fit. The fronts would need about a 1/8 inch spacer for the spokes to clear the calipers.
