Those of you who waited for a allocation spot
I understand this is different from dealer to dealer. For the shake of conversation, i am just looking for some feedback from people.
So i put my money down, and ordered my C7 on march 2nd. Dealer said i was second in line for a allocation spot. Its a "bigger" dealership that sells a lot of cars let me add.
I told them i was looking to take delivery latest time by July. because i do not need this car, and don't mind waiting. They said it should happen before that.
just looking for people who waited for a allocation spot, how long did it your dealership to get your order submitted to chevy?

If you are 2nd in line at a bigger dealer you should have no problems getting it by July. I live in TX and went with Les Stanford in Michigan and took courtesy delivery. Saved $5K cause they take GMS and got the car exactly in the time frame they said (7-8 weeks). Wouldn't do it any other way now. They earned my repeat business for sure!

If they have allocations it shouldn't be a big deal for them to place an order. Getting the car is another story. Some friends of ours just got theirs a week ago and ordered it in November. Color combination over-ride probably slowed it down.

My order was accepted within minutes of the dealer keying into the system. Of course we knew there was an allocation there waiting

hey guys i know how long the wait is once the ordered has been accepted by GM. I am not at that point yet. as i am waiting for a allocation spot to open up. again i am wondering from people who waited for a spot, how long did they wait. not talking about production

I ordered from a larger dealer that gets 2-3 per mo. ordered the end of June, asked where I was and was told #5, Built 09-15-14 and was at the dealer the end of Oct, dealer sent it to my home by flat bed the next day. I was glad the deal went as he told me it would.

The dealer I ordered from sells a few Corvettes, but is not a volume seller by any means. It took four weeks to go from 1100 to 2000. I was able to get the solid roof, but didn't order a Z51. There really is no "average" time, its all about allocations, constraints and where you are on the wait list. You maybe number two, but could jump ahead of the guy in front if he's waiting for a Z51 and you're not. Same with solid roof or other constraint items. All allocations are not the same. Knowing what you ordered could help with an estimate.

Was #2, ordered 7/28/14, order accepted in August for the 2015 Z51 w/painted roof 2LT VY. Car built 9/15/14. Waited for shipping but that's not what you asked. GOOD LUCK!
(BTW: Had to 'settle' for transparent roof though, constraints on painted)
I'd be sure to ask about any constraints on your order.

I was in a similar situation. Talked to the dealer in November of '13 for an expected delivery of May '14. Make a long story short I got the 'should be 2 weeks' for about 2 months before I lost it and demanded action in the way of hard dates from GM. I was contacted by the regional sales manager of Chevy dealers and got a date. Wound up taking delivery July '14. If I were to do it again I would contact a dealer who is established as a Corvette specialist=volume and eliminate the hometown loyalty BS. I love the car, the NCM delivery was awesome, but the allocation crap still has me pissed as it will always be a part of the experience when it really didn't need to be if they were just honest and up front with it. I know, my car therapist says I need to get over it too.
Note: No restrictions on any options was a 2LT Stingray Coupe with solid painted roof.

The answer mostly depends on how many allocations your dealer gets. If it only gets 4 per year and you are #2, you may wait 6 months for your order to be accepted, and another 6-8 weeks for your car to be built and shipped. If your dealer gets 12 allocations per year, you may only wait two months to get your order accepted, etc. If you order anything on constraint, that will slow it down even more.
I ordered from a big dealer with hundreds of Corvette allocations. My order was picked up within a week and in my driveway in 7 weeks total, and that included the Holiday plant shutdown and the painted roof constraint.

Placed my order in late January of this year at a local dealer, still no word on an allocation; it has been 6 weeks as of yesterday. Not sure that I will get a 2015 at this late stage and in that case will reconsider how to handle a 2016.
When we ordered our Mercedes SLK last year, the order was placed early January and I was driving it home on February 26; not bad for coming half way around the world. The Bowling Green plant is only 200 miles away???

Guys how do i tell how if my dealership is a big volume seller or not .
From what i experience, they had a decent amount of vettes on lot, also had a Z/28 in the show room. My sales guy also said they move a lot of cars per month. which is why i said they are a bigger dealership. Thats kind of a guess though.

Are they moving the Corvettes? If they ordering and selling them, then they should receive allocations. Thing is, only 50% of the allocations that come down are for Z51s and only 40% are for painted roof. Think about it, if you want a Z51 then you have a 50% chance of getting one, but only 40% of the Z51 allocations will be for Z51 with painted roof. What do you have on order?
i got a 2lt Z51, black rims. no other options. I dont even know what roof i have coming. what ever the car comes with.
I will probably give them a few more weeks to see if they can get my order in. i really don't want a 2016.

You have two constraints that make your chance of getting an allocation 50% or less, Z51 and standard painted roof so your wait will be longer. You can change to transparent roof at $995 and probably move quicker. Like I said in an earlier post, it took me a month to move off of 1100 because I wanted a non Z51 with painted roof. If I'd wanted at Z51 the wait would have been longer.
this was the feedback i was looking for.

Allocated within 2 days of placing order. Used a very good dealership, and got great service. CRISWELL with Mike F. With Mike NO ISSUES during the entire process, Mike emailed me as soon as there was a change in status, and help with NCM too. NOT A SINGLE HITCH, and that is very unusual to say in todays world. MIKE F. does not TALK Customer Service, HE DOES customer service.....
Ordered 28 March, Allocated 31 March, picked up at NCM on 2 June. Could have picked up sooner, but had work schedule issues and had to wait 2 LONG weeks before we could fly out to museum.
