Default All About That Bass!

I would like to share with those of us who like to hear the lows we are missing in our music. I built this custom sub enclosure for two 10" subs with the ability to hold the removable top. It sounds amazing and I still have trunk space.

nice, I love my music but I don't know if I'm willing to give the valuable real estate in the back for it.

Finally someone does one that doesn't eat their entire trunk, or look like that atrocious $1200 JL Audio enclosure. Where'd you end up putting the amp?

I used a Soundstream Nano micro amp. It is installed next to the factory underneath the trunk liner and I got my remote turn on from the center console cigarette socket 12V wire .

Li'l bitty guys! Interested in hearing about your signal source. Did you pull from the head unit or the Bose amp?

I used a adjustable line out converter. I took the signal from to the Bose sub. It actually has two channels feeding the factory sub. Worked out great with no level loss.

No bass rolloff at high volume, coming from the Bose amp? I wouldn't have expected that!

The beauty about this set up is the amp has more power than enough power needed for the DS18 subs that I am currently using and it has an adjustable remote bass **** that I have mounted in the armrest to attenuate on certain songs. I will be changing out the subs out for Polk MM1040 when they arrive.

Nice. How'd you rough out the dimensions for the box? Full MDF? Fiberglass front? Did you take pics of the construction process? Share! I dig this stuff.

All 3/4 MDF, with Body filler top make the contour and 1.2 CUFt. inside box air space.

To each their own. This is not my daily driver or family car. I bought it to have fun and share with others at the meets /car shows. The trunk needed some excitement.

And, here's a better pic of that JL sub box installed. It actually looks like it takes up less room than yours.
