Default Head Up display not "sticky"

I have several GM cars with the Head Up display, including a C6. All of them return to the last setting when you restart the car. My C6 Z06 does not. I have it set to a display that shows the RPM and G Force. When I turn off the car and restart it the Head Up display shows the first screen with speed only.

Is this normal? If so, I don't like it and GM needs to get it back to the way it works with the C6.

the HUD is part of the "display" - when you "unlink to driving mode" in settings, it will remain where you want it...

I believe you meant to say "My C7 Z06 does not". Otherwise, this is in the wrong section of the Forum.

Yes I did mean to say C7 Z06.

I will try unlinking the drive mode. If that is true, I still thing GM messed that up. No matter what drive mode I am in, linked or not, the Head Up display should remain at the setting I left it.

I unlinked the driving mode and the Head Up display stays where you left it. As I mentioned in my previous post, I don't like the way that works. No matter what driving mode I am in when I set the Head Up display it should stay where I set it unless I change it.

I sure don't understand their logic on this one,

Do you drive everywhere in track mode?

That's the whole point of being able to link or unlink the displays (both the DIC and the HUD) to the driving mode. If you want your displays to stay constant, unlink them. Otherwise they will change to the driver mode you are in.

Learned something today. Now I don't have to worry about wearing out the HUD rocker everytime I drive.
