Help! Purchased Car - Dealer Called and Wants More Money
***I spoke to an attorney. The issue has been settled. It was likely that I would not have had to pay anything. However, I wanted to do the right thing and so did the dealer. We split the difference.
I've received great feedback from many. Exactly what I needed. I didn't post documents up because I didn't need elaborate legal advice. But I did receive friendly advice, which I appreciate.

Depends on what you agreed to. If you paid the agreed price on the paperwork you signed your good to go. If you are short on the agreed price, you owe it.

You gotta tell us a helluva lot more about the transaction than you have already.

This. Read your paperwork before doing anything. In spite of the previous replies from the peanut gallery that could land you in trouble.

Take out a second mortgage on your home and pay them what they want plus 10% inconvenience fee.
If you paid up exactly what was agreed upon, sounds like they need retrain their administrative weenie or fire someone.
Good luck.

If you have the title then don't worry about. After I bought mine I got the title in the mail fast from DMV.

How much do they say you owe? Does you paperwork say you paid the amount you were supposed to? If so, thats your receipt. Your job is to pay, their job is to do the paperwork....my question also: did you know at delivery you didnt pay all the money and thought you were getting over on them or what is your actual stance on the issue?

I have Pirchased many vehicles to this date and I have never heard of this. If you paid them all monies agreed upon in your sales contract and now they want more, why?
If they were not able to get you financed for whatever terms they had you sign up for, that is on them, and not your responsibility to cover their failure to get you funded at contracted agreed rate/term.
Now even more shady would be if they want you to get written on different terms/rate with a different lender in order for them to accomplish higher profit or secure their financial position.
Either way it comes down to if you have paid all money's you agreed to paying on your sales contract.
Do not take your originals no mater what back to the dealership and by any chance let them destroy or mark it as null/void, as this is the only thing you have written that may serve to protect you.
Need more details and he whole story.

Need full story to give full advice. Otherwise, screw them. If the contract was not signed, tell them where they can come pick up their vehicle. Then, walk away.
If you don't have the money to pay them, then perhaps you shouldn't have purchased a Corvette in the first place. I can't imagine the totals being so far off that someone couldn't come up with the difference on a $70K vehicle. Unless...

I assume this must have been a transaction handled by check, probably a bank or credit union. You must be able to determine exactly how much was paid. Compare that number to the contract. If there is a discrepancy you should find it.

There are dealers that try this, but usually start off with "the financing did not go through..." It is most often an attempt to extort money from the buyer.
It is also possibly a scammer. Make sure you are dealing with the selling dealer. Do not give them credit card info over the phone!
