42 days and counting!!!
This is our 3rd C7 ordered and by FAR the most frustrating. At least #1 was ordered in May 2013 which was WAY BEFORE PRODUCTION STARTED and we were happy it was built Oct 8 2013 and had it Oct 18 2013. #2 was ordered mid Feb 2014 and built 2nd week of Mar 2014 and in our hands Apr 14 2014. #3 built Mar 4 and still in Toledo with NO ESTIMATE of it even leaving Toledo for the short (sarcasm) rail to Calif and then the wait to get unloaded and trucked to the dealer. Even our dealer is stumped as far as whats going on and they are I believe the largest Corvette sales dealer in Calif! They do not have an answer as to why a Corvette ordered after ours, built 2 weeks after ours, sent from BG to Toledo 2 weeks after ours has been shipped and here waiting to truck to the dealer while ours STILL SITS IN TOLEDO. My friend expects to pick his up tomorrow! Hopefully, eventually someone will step up with some answers!
To explain for a few the reasons for this last order, # 2 was a vert for my wife. On Thankgiving, she had a blood clot go to the retna of her right eye and is now permanently blind in that eye. She did not feel confortable with the size of the back window for safety and decided to sell it. My coupe back window is much better for her so we decided on Corvette # 3.

Kingman, Huh? I was thinking about doing Courtesy Delivery with them. Pahrump Valley Auto showed interest as well. So, I gather you were also told "NO" by Fairway Chevrolet?

You have a very friendly dealer! Mine will hardly answer an email.
My Z06, vin 4229 built 3/5/15 sat in BG almost 2 weeks arrived in Toledo 3/19/15.
It has sat there ever since while cars built 1, 2, and 3 weeks after mine were loaded onto several different trains headed west.

My dealership is unconcerned. They have me hooked with a deposit and know they will reap their profit eventually.

Just got a call from MacMulkin and my car is moving on a train heading west. I am hoping it is surrounded by other CA corvettes and we are all on the same train. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

So happy to hear. I'm waiting for Dave at Kerbeck to call. He was looking into it for us all. Glad they pulled from the back of the lot
Where is it's destination? NVM…..Sacramento..i remembered… BUt curious if your dealership was able to give a railcar number so you can track it with union pacific? For onstar tracking I heard someone has to push a blue button in the car.

rail car shortage!!!!!
The question is why are cars being held in Toledo for a month or more while newly arrived cars are being shipped ahead of them????? All cars are not being delayed because of rail car shortages, only the ones waiting the longest are being delayed!!!!

Yep. I was told no by all of the Las Vegas dealers. Actually they were all really rude about it, said they had no interest in doing a courtesy delivery. That being said, Fairway is on G.M.'s courtesy delivery list. I know of one person here on the forum that just had a car courtesy delivered there recently. I really don't get it. They could have made some money doing the delivery and gained a customer. I do understand that they want to sell the car, but when I can get 10% off sticker from a forum dealer and the Vegas dealers are still asking way over sticker---not rocket science. Kingman Chevrolet did a great job--I would recommend them.
