Default Emblem replacement tip or tricks

I just received the GM carbon flash Emblem kit, which includes the front & rear flags, fender stingray and rear Corvette script letters.
Any tips and guidance on how to easily remove the old emblems without damaging paint, what to use to remove old adhesive residue and prepare surface for new emblem adhesive.
What did you do to mark or locate the old emblems for reference in locating new ones, especially the rear script which is 2 pieces.
Any help is appreciated
Roger

You take them off with fishing line or dental floss and a liberal 15 min soaking with GOOGONE from grocery store.

Use painters tape to create a line for mounting.

I started with floss. Didnt work well. It kept breaking even when doubled up. Fishing line not only didnt break it cut significantly faster. You can get a spool of line for a couple of bucks at Walmart. Wore mechanic gloves when pulling on the line. Also, I did use goo gone for some soaking, but found 3M trim adhesive remover worked faster. Many ways to go at it. Be patient with getting the adhesive off. Wiped it all down with denatured alcohol before installing new ones. If you do a search, you will find posts with pix.

For the rear lettering, I took the letters out of the foam and placed the foam over the letters on the car. Then used painters tape to align the foam. Then, put the black letters back into the foam for installation. Made it super simple. Hope this is clear.

Cant take the credit. Got the idea from a fellow forum member. I was stressed about how to get the alignment right - this approach made it easy. All the best with the project. You will like the new look!

For the stingray emblems on the fender, there are actually lines lightly etched on the paint that are slightly larger than the emblems. Maybe a 1/8 th or 1/16th of an inch all the way around.

Just look closely from different angles with a good flashlight and center them. They are slightly angled not parallel to the vehicle.

Good luck!
