Default 2016 Mid-Engine Corvette

A friend of mine said the 2016 Corvette will have a mid-engine. He said there were pictures of the test vehicle in one of the auto magazines, although the car was covered, while it was being tested on the city streets.

Does anyone know for sure if the 2016 model will be a mid-engine?

I think I would prefer the 2015 C7 because of the usable trunk space.

You comments and thoughts.

I think there would be a better chance of obama resigning than a mid engine Corvette for 2016. Best chance for a mid engine Vette IMO would be when the C8 comes out...long time away!

Possibly the C8 will be in another 6 or so years.

The rumors you are hearing are of a possible replacement ZR1/HALO car that would be mid engine. Rumored to might even be a Cadillac instead of under the Chevy brand.

Not until they finally show the premium mid-engine model in a year or two. But it won't actually be on sale in showrooms until a few years from now.

uhhh....you should thank Obama every time you press the start button in your awesome vette... if it weren't for our Great President GM would be based in Bei frickin jing...Thank God John "Shut down GM" McCain or Mitt "my daddy was CEO of Am. Motors" Romney got their respective Tushies handed to them courtesy of our Union backing American Business loving President Obama. Obama is the main reason why we can collectively pontificate about the next vette's engine placement instead of being resolved to satisfy our world class sports cars craving by buying German or Japanese....vrrmmmm, vrmmmm.
