The 2016 is the Z51 that plant manager, Jeff LaMarche is currently driving. The 2014 YV is the base model that I drive.

I like velocity much better.

I like the new yellow. Reminds me of Chrome Yellow on my '98 Cobra Mustang.

I keep hearing the change was to move away from the tinted clear and to a traditional base/clear with no tint coat. Currently Velocity yellow and Millennium Yellow before it have a yellow tinted clear making it very hard to paint match.

It's obviously hard to tell from the pictures as it is from the paint chips that GM provides, but it looks like the new "Racing" yellow is a sun-faded VY! Given the choice, I'd opt for the VY!

Looks like the old yellow is just a bit darker in tone. Hard to tell if they weren't side by side, I doubt the general public or a new buyer will realize the color changed yr over yr outside of the name. Guess change is good but this seems baby steps...probably more about costs or their ability to apply the paint etc.. than to have a new yellow color.

Maybe I will feel differently when I see it in person, but right now I am relieved because I think the old version looks better. Perhaps it is the lighting but the new yellow seems a bit washed out - maybe it looks brighter in person.

They do look different next to each other. I actually like them both.
My question is: Have they also changed the yellow caliper option as well to match?
