Default 2016 D bottom steering wheel

When do you think the 2016 D bottom steering wheel will be available to purchase? I would rather buy the 2016 instead of the 2015 Z06 wheel for my 2014 C7. I don't want to have to deal with removing the Z06 emblem.

You will not be able to acquire the 2016 steering wheel until after the new model is in production.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a few show up on eBay before 2016 production starts. Most likely pre-production models, rejects, etc. I wouldn't buy one from anyone other than an authorized GM Parts dealer.

I imagine Gene from Cultrag will let us all know as soon as the new 2016 Stingray steering wheels are available for order.

This is a picture of the steering wheel with the flat bottom. Is this an upgrade?

Now that you put it that way-I think you have a point-hey who shaved the bottom off that wheel off-I like the round wheel better.

An upgrade would be a John Caravaggio wheel/airbag covered combo!

The wheel should have had a flat bottom from the beginning...

Why? Looks ridiculous. A steering wheel is supposed to be round. Hence the word "steering wheel."

According to the Bash video it will be standard on all 2016s, I believe.

That's the standard steering wheel on the Z06, which is similar for the '16 Stingray.

I'm not sure I understand the advantage. Is it to accomodate people with large thighs? (Not trying to be funny, I really would like to know what the purpose is).

I like the steering wheel low, @ 6'3" it sure helps w/legroom. Also easier to get in/out. Looks great, feels good..positive upgrade.

"Rounders" there is hope. John Caravaggio does rounds too.

It's the cool factor. Not needed to exit the car because the steerling wheel already automatically moves out of the way and the seat move back. Can't drive with the wheel any lower even if it tilts lower or the top of the wheel will block the gauges. I'll pass on this mod, but it is cool.
