yup.....the type of "wax" you choose from a major mfr is secondary to a clay and polish job first. I can make any wax look great.

Once a year I decontaminate (clay bar, iron x and wash)
Light polish if needed (menzerna)
Sealant (synthetic) menzerna power lock, collinite or black fire are my choices
Then top off with a carnuba for that shine.. Here I like adams, black fire and auto finesse

For maintenance I'll use chemical black light glaze and reseal/wax with the above stated

Totally

Lower priced great wax choice....Meguiar's G12718 NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 - 18 oz.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...+2.0+paste+wax

High quality wax choice...Pinnacle Black Label Synergy

http://www.autogeek.net/black-label-synergy.html

There are many choices of wax and detailing products. Find the one that suits/meets your budget and provides the result your looking for.

There are hundreds of waxes in available in the auto detail marketplace. After a while these products can get confusing to the end user. I am sure that other members will make suggestions and by the time this thread gets going you will many so many choices of what to use. Personal preference is a big factor in making reccomendations.

As "Glen e" has stated it is the prep of the surface that makes a good shine. Clay Bar or Nanoskin first, then polish, then WAX.

I've used Zaino for years…very nice shine and durability.

I put Klasse AIO followed by Pinnacle Souveran carnuba wax on the 2015 Vette with great results.

I had really good results with Adams Car Care products. I used it on my 1999 FRC and the finish stayed as good as new. Also, I never used soap on my Vettes. I simply rinse them off, hand dry and wax.

Meguairs #20 hands-down been a professional automotive detailer for 20+ years when I say professional I mean wet sanding, high speed buffing etc. Not just washing the car and putting armor all on the tires. I've tried almost everything out there over the years this product can't be beat super simple to wipe on super simple to wipe off.go to auto geek read the reviews other products out there cost way more don't the same kind of shine ease of application or duration of protection. Makes the vehicle look wet

I have been using M205 and finish with a basic wax like NXT or Gold Class. Occasionally I do paint correction with leftover M105 and I have used Mirror glaze #7 when I have had time though it can be a pain to clean up.

I am not really up to date with Meguiar's new products. Are there any others you would recommend other than #20? Thanks!

Meguairs #20 has been around for years and is not a new product.
Not sure what color your car is but anybody that has a new one should not have to be doing any type of paint correction maybe some clay bar before sealing the paint that would just depend on how much time the car spent in transport how it was transported and how long from build date till you received the car. I received my car within four days of it being built so it did not spend any time on the train collecting fallout, or sitting on the lot collecting any imperfections that needed to be corrected.

Didn't know folks still used WAX these days. But since you asked I use ZAINO, have since 1999.

I actually was not aware of #20 when I initially started using their products. I will have to give it a try.

The car that I have been using m105 on is a Mustang that is 13 years old. It was shipped via train in 2002 but actually got stuck in a blizzard for over a week before it arrived at the dealership. It's a black car but it was actually frosted white when it arrived! I didn't do any paint correction until around 2011-2012 but it was a long time coming.
