Default Back into a Vette

Well im pleased to say as of last Saturday night I became the owner of a brand new 2015 stingray z51 3lt standard trans with competition seats. Car had 10 miles that day and by Sunday night it had 430ish of nothing but fun. I tried my hardest to last a 500 mile break in and gave up after 35 miles. Still trying to figure everything out with mag ride performance traction management which I have no clue what it does except i can go to launch control mode.

Back story I bought my first vette a c5z when I was 21, did headers mid pipe cutouts and nitrous went great, had that for about two years traded it in last year at 23 for a lifted 13' denali diesel and that lasted all of 6 months I had to get back into a vette. I do wish this car was a little faster to be with my old c5z and I wanna mod it bad but I know I shouldn't yet. The shift pattern is way tighter too i've almost gone into first three times from second...

Since I can't mod it without voiding warranty my next step is probably some decent tires, but i've heard of people breaking the rear end too but regardless it's a blast and I love it and I fully intend on putting some good quality miles on the car, once I get xm radio because driving without that is borderline hell if it wasn't for track mode to hear the car.

I surely hope so! The urge to mod will be strong but I must resist...I almost lost to a turbo honda hatch so that hurt a little...Traction will fix it all.

Nice car!! I too thought someone backed into your Vette lol.

Did you ever run the C5Z at the track? These cars are more than capable on stock tires to run a great time, I noticed my tires started to work really well after about 1000 miles.

You can put nitrous on one without voiding the warranty btw.

Oh im having probably way too much fun with this thing...launch control is a blast. I was rather surprised how many people around where I live get butthurt about me getting this car haha.

Never ran my c5z at the track just a lot, a ton actually, of street racing. I had a lot of people trying to say it made 700wheel and amusing stuff like that. Just some mickeys headers mid pipe 100 shot no tune worked very well. The tires are starting to get better I think it's not spinning as much.

A service manager buddy told me I can do headers and mid pipe without voiding warranty and a tune is a grey area but I am still reluctant with it...

Honestly my ultimate plan is the three mods everybody does, headers meth and a blower. It's just a matter of how long until I do it but I will hold out as long as possible to make sure nothing is gunna break yet.

I could imagine the butthurt lol, the type of people who street race a lot usually get salty when someone gets something new/nice/fast.

Corvettes are absolute freaks from a freeway roll, I've always said if you have two cars that run the same 1/4 mile times and trap speed and one of them is a Vette it will kill the other one on the freeway. It's just weird, must be a comination of aero, weight, gearing etc.

Between the weather warming up a little and getting over 1000 miles my tires are WAY better now than they were new. I was always told new tires have some kind of oil in them that only comes out with heat cycles.

I want to keep my warranty as well, that's why I plan on 100 shot with no other mods.

I guarantee your C7 is faster than a C5 ZO6. The C5Zo6 just feels more like a raw race car. The C7 is so refined and high tech it just feels that way. Just like the wars back in the C6 vs C5 ZO6 day's. MOST found on a real race, they where very close without Run crap tires. Especially with Z51 models and the lower 1-3 RD gears. I'd put $ on your car VS. a slightly modded C5 ZO6 ANY DAY!!! Refined cars are scary and can get you in trouble because your going a lot faster than what it seems. This makes them a better daily driving car. I'll be checking on you tube for this match up. But who really cares because your barely ever going to push your car to it's limits on the streets anyway!! Just my two cents being a old 39 YR old fart!!

My old c5z had nitrous. But now I'm running into issues after everything was done, or so I thought...

Dealer said I'm approved for everything signed all paperwork Saturday. Couldn't print last few stubs but gave them Monday after everything was signed. I was making less first part of the year switched positions making a good chunk more, was a idiot and switched out late last year n moved back to it again, so the bank is bitching saying my year to date didn't match up with what we said I make, which is what I currently make now. My regular checks a week are a good bit more than I made first two months of the year. Everything I have paperwork wise shows it's a done deal I traded my truck in took this car but the bank changed their mind or something idk. I had waited a few days for financing and was told I was approved everything good and it shows the bank on my paperwork. They said now I need a cosigner which I can't do nor do I wanna do. This is becoming difficult. Heck car has over 800 miles on it now!
