Default C7 cup holder mods?

So the cup holders suck on the C7, anyone have any mods or cup holder inserts they recommend for the stock cup holders. I can't even keep a water bottle in the cup holder as soon as I turn it falls out which is kind of annoying.

Travel Buddy cup holder. It comes in single and double.

Most of the bigger vendors carry them.

I use sports wrist bands. Wrap one around the base of your water bottle and you're set.

You must have not had a C6

I don't mind the cupholders because I don't have cups to hold very often other than my bottle of water but people seem to like the buddy traveler as posted above.

The Travel Buddies - pictured above are the best IMHO. However, the wife hates them since she sits in the passenger seat and they really cut down on her leg room. I put one in the C7 and on her first ride she opened the window and tossed them out!

I always drive starting with a full water bottle. Used a "Travel Buddy" in my C6 but passenger grab handle makes it harder to reach in a C7 and it takes away leg room. Thought the "deeper" C7 holders compared to the C6 would work (yep they are deeper, didn't say deep!) Bought a C7 water bottle and with a few felt pads and strips got it to fit fairly snug. Looked like it was going to work, when with a full bottle had to make a very sudden stop, water all over! Wasn't the bottle it was the insert, it tilted and allowed the bottle to tilt and fall over!
Decided I would fix the C7 cup holder! Was more involved then I first thought but it has now worked for over 1 1/2 years and can handle a 1 "g" turn and stop! Have lots of pics of what was done in a 5 page PDF: http://netwelding.com/Improved_cup_Holder.pdf

Some of the pics are below:

Bottle Fit Fairly Tight, but Insert Tilted Upon a Fast Stop - Water All Over!

Tried Several Things to Secure GM Insert. It's Made from Very Thin Plastic. Finally Added a Wood Insert and Siliconed it to the Base.

Cork, Felt Pads and Soft Side of Velcro Strips Make Bottle Snug. Has Worked for 1 1/2 Years in 1 "g" Turns and Stops.

I removed the insert and now it makes a nice compartment for glasses or other things. No drinks allowed in my car.

If you think the C7 cup holders suck, what did you think of the C5 cup holders. Basically, they were nonexistent. Stick a piece of velcro on the bottom of the cup holder. Works well.

I purchased a couple of cozies from NCM and stick my water bottles or coffee mugs in those then in the cup holders. They fit pretty snug.

My wife hates it to, no leg room after install. So I took it out and threw it in the shelf .

I usually put my sun glasses behind the screen, but it is a good idea to remove the center piece and use it for storage.

My Camry has a nice cup holder that is adjustable with the center piece/divider. Anyone know if there is a center piece you can buy that will fit in the corvette cup holder?

All these are good ideas but need a permanent solution for the stock cup holders.

I like the concept of the extra side mounted cup holders but they have the same issue as the existing ones in that they are just too small for anything other than a standard coffee cup or 20 oz bottle.
Plus as noted above, passengers hate them blocking their leg room.

Is anyone aware of someone who makes a larger one that could accommodate something a little bit bigger?
I'm not talking bubba-keg big, just maybe accommodate a camelback water bottle or a QuickTrip 44 oz, cup.

I thought a saw an option a few years back for something that stradles between the seats just behind the center console but cannot find it now.
