Default Hud

I purchased my C7 from a dealer's show room floor. Consequently, there was no HUD as an option. Has anyone installed an HUD after their purchase? Is the C7 set up for this type of mod? I did this to my C5 and it was a fairly easy install, plug and play. On my C5, the mounting bolts were already in place for the projector, the hole to cut through the dash was outlined underneath, placed a bezel in the opening and all I had to do was to plug in the projector to the back of the instrument panel and reassemble the dash.

Thanks

I know it has been done on the Camaro but not easily and as expensive as you might imagine: on the Camaro it needed bunches of interior work and wiring; don't know about the Stingray.

I do not have HUD and so I am waiting for the NAVDY. I have no stock in but I am pre-production orderer. It looks good and as I had HUD on both my C5 and my C6 you might understand why I miss it.

Heg,The C7 with a hell of a lot more electronic interfaces will not be as easy as a C5 to hook up I would think.

Just changing the handling modes will change the HUD display on C7s.

There's thread, either here or on another forum, from someone who was doing that. It looked to be a huge and expensive effort. I think you'd have to want the HUD real, real bad. Not the relative plug and play it sounds like the C5 was.

Search the forums and you should be able to find the thread, which had pictures showing the level of surgery necessary.

Yet another reason to order the car as you want it instead of "settling" for the one your local dealer has on the showroom floor.....

I got the exact car I wanted from the dealer. Was just wondering about a mod. I can certainly live without HUD.

Turn it back on. Once you get used to it you could end up loving it.

The C7 hud kind of sucks. I wouldn't spend anytime or money to install it, Trust me, your not missing anything. The C5-C6 hud was good, Signal indicators, bight light indicator, fuel and other gauges. The C7 hud is a speedo and tach.. oh and a g-meter? but you can have 3 or 4 different styles of tachometer if you want.

Yeah, I don't get why they didn't add those things, but I wouldn't call it crappy or sucky. It still has all the info you need and laid out nicely. I drove some BMWs with huds and I would compare it to them.

I love the HUD, but it sure is funny. The C5 HUD had the most information, the C6 no fuel gauge, but everything else, C7 no directional no fuel no water or oil info. You would think the more modern car would have the most info on the HUD.

The HUD is a nice feature while driving at night. Not so much wearing premium sunglasses in daylight. 2015 C7 is the first car with HUD. I would order it again on my next Vette. I like it.
