Default Mild Curb Rash

Have mild curb rash due to scrape on standard wheel. Can I attempt to sand it myself (I have a rotary tool) or am I wasting my time. I do have GM wheel touch up paint.

You could cover it up if it's not too bad...https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...enjoyment.html

Take it to a wheel repair place if you can't live with it. I did wen I scraped mine. Cost $200, but looks like new. My sons looked over all 4 wheels and couldn't tell which one had been fixed.

I have use the Dremel on some small spots on a polished alloy wheel, and got good results just using the little buffer head , slowest speed, a light touch, and some rubbing compound, then finishing compound. Almost gone.....then you could touch up, wait a few weeks, and polish again by hand.

This would be the best option if you are not confident in your ability to do the repair yourself. But if you do try it, best of luck - hope it comes out perfect.

I just had some mild curb rash fixed yesterday (not on my Stingray, luckily). It only cost $50 and the wheel looks perfect. Let a pro handle it.

I fixed quite a few with my dremel tool good enough to hide the scar.

I've repaired my passenger side wheels twice. I wet sanded w/600, 1,500, then 3000, masked the area and painted, then clear coat and finally sanded with 3000 and buffed. They look great. It's much easier if you pull the wheel off the car.

I took mine to a wheel repair guy and he repaired it for $70. Looks good as new and took him about 30 minutes.

He taped off the wheel, used what looked like a Dremel to smooth the area, and then used an air brush to repaint the area.

I should add, I have black painted wheels
