True, but unless they thought the OP was an idiot, brakes don't come close to matching the problem description. Of course, we don't actually know what he told the dealer, so your point may still be fair.

2015 M7, same here. Only sometimes, but I hear it in the first three gears. Some days it's fine and other days I hear it. Thinking it might have something to do with the temperature outside...

Just hit 10k on mine and I having the same isue. I heard the noise and also can feel the vibration on the shifter ****, it happens randomly doesn't matter if the car is cold or warm. Just wondering what was the diagnostic?

I bought a 2015 C7 brand new. It now has around 9k miles. For the past 2K miles or so....when I take off in 1st gear I will sometimes hear a screeching sound like the brake pads are worn out when you stop. Except this happens when I take off in 1st gear, not when I am stopping. A few days ago they changed the brake pads thinking that would solve the issue, but it has not. When the car moves forward in 1st gear and I hear the sound....I can actually feel the vibration of the screeching in the gear shifter. In the gear shifter it feels like two metal things are briefly rubbing together. It's the same feel in the gear shifter you get when your brakes are worn and the car starts to have trouble stopping. It doesn't happen every time, but frequent enough to take notice. Do any of you have any ideas of what is causing this so that I can mention it to the mechanic?
Sounds like me and you are experiencing a similar issue. Have taken it to the dealer on numerous occasions, only to be told each time that nothing is wrong.

Took mine to the dealership twice. Couldn't duplicate the sound 
Let us know what they say, if they find a problem. I am sick of my car doing this. I want it fixed. Dealer won't touch it until I can duplicate the noise.

Hello everyone.
I have a 2015 C7 Z06 with the 7-speed manual transmission.
I would like to know if somebody can send me the video/audio (the link is empty) of the sound it makes just to compare because when taking off in first gear on mine I hear a really terrible metallic sound I would say once or twice a month and when the car is warm (really not that often but the sound is really concerning…). Also, I live in Paris and having such a car in France is really exotic, so you don't have a lot of people to talk to when it comes to that kind of issue…
I hope this is not terrible because I already have to change de brake rotors, making vibrations when I brake over 70 km/h…
