Chevrolet Corvette Lock Placement Survey
Hi All,
Our Human Factors and Quality Design teams appreciated your feedback so much that they asked us to do another quick poll for the lock control placement for future Corvettes.
Please see poll at the top of this thread to participate.
Would you be dissatisfied if the Power Door Lock/Unlock controls were to move to the same location as the Power Door Open button?
If you have any questions, please send me a message or respond in the thread.
We kindly appreciate your thoughts and feedback.

Burning Brakes
I would be fine with that.

I think I'm too used to it being there now. It was confusing at first, but now I just open the door with one hand. Moving the button would require me to use two hands. Unless they make it a manual latch, it doesn't make sense to me.

Having a single button in that location is the ideal scenario as many simply reach for it instinctively. Having 3 buttons in close proximity could result in the lock/unlock button being hit by accident....especially for us old guys and our set Vette motor function (motor function being a learned instinctual habit).

However moving the passenger side lock/unlock buttons to above the handle would be welcome. They are certainly awkward to push where they are currently located.

I think it makes sense... They are all related. For those who fear hitting one or the other incorrectly, I'm sorry but I don't follow... What harm would it do to hit the lock OR unlock button in the first place? And is everyone so incompetent that they can't activate the button they intended to hit?

Why not just 1 button-lock/unlock. Any modifications can be done with settings.

Makes sense to me. Especially if you could unlock and then open the door with just one hand.

I have no problem with the current location. I agree with those that say the proposed location would be too close to the other buttons. However, if it were my choice we would go back to the good old conventional handles.
