C7 A/C not up for the summer heat

C7 A/C not up for the summer heat
I've noticed that the cool seats don't cool very much. Also the AC is not very strong. I think it has to do with the placement of the center vent being so high, and that the 2nd center vent is pointed at the passenger. I can't really direct the air flow on my right arm or lower chest. I often end up lowering the window and let the wind in.
The other thing is that I tinted the windows, 1 shade over the legal limit, but it's not enough IMO. It's not even that hot here, around 76 degrees, but the UV is strong.
Do you have the same issue? I don't suppose there's any easy fit.
On the flip side of the coin, I had the roof off one night and it was getting cold, about 60 outside + wind. I turned on the Auto Climate control to 75, and the car blow ice cold air. So i had to turn it off.

was in Fla. couple of weeks ago. AC worked great, cooled seats only work with the ac blowing on floor. The ac in most new cars don't work like the old AC used too. Even my Work car/Prius takes a while to get cold...

I've had the goofy AC blowing ice cold on a cold night too. Strange. Just crank it to high. Never seen an auto climate control that was bullet proof, although I've had cars from 20+ years ago that worked better than this car.
As for not getting cold enough, try running in a lower gear for awhile. I first learned this in my 96 Trans Am M6. Say you're on the interstate...I'd run 5th for a bit to get the AC going good before cruising in 6th.

Just put in over 800 miles and had no problem staying cool. Have the transparent top with a dot matrix sun shade and stayed cool with temps in the low 90's. Seat cooling also worked fine with dash vents only.
Sounds like you might have a problem but hard to tell. Our Corvette and Cadillac both have climate control and seem slow to respond at times.
Hope you get it solved.

Guess I'll either be impressed by the C7 or pretty damn let down here soon. But I have seen other cars take the heat just fine.

It's been mid 90s here and mine works fine. However, I quit using the auto temp control because I had to crank it down to 66 to get it to keep the cabin cold at that temp. Now I just turn the fan up or down.

2015 A8 here. I just survived the longest, hottest week of June weather in Charlotte, NC history, 95 to 102F. AC works great, lots of air. Cooled seats are better than nothing. My back does not sweat. I use my AC in AUTO mode. My only complaint is the driver’s right vent. Air either blows in your face or on your right hand while on the steering wheel. I use a folding sun shade when parked in the sun all day. I crank the car, turn on the AC, and make sure the sun shade is blocking the right vent while I roll it up because very hot air is coming out the vent.

Cooled seats also work well. Feels like there is A/C on my back. Take it to a dealer. Don
Steve R is correct, the seats are vented but they do work well in my opinion. Keeps your shirt from getting sweaty in hot weather.

Once I learned to take it off auto the A/C works great. The A/C did not work worth a damn in the "auto" mode. Now I set it on 69 and fan on low and it works perfectly. Before on auto I set it on 70 and the fan blew on high all the time and never cooled very well. At least on my car, GM missed the boat on the auto climate control.

It's been over 100 here and my AC works fine in Auto mode.
C7 doesn't have cooled seats, it has vented seats. Huge difference.

I took a 7,000 mi. road trip in my "14 C7 cpe, with transparent top, last summer. Went thru the California desert, Arizona (114*), New Mexico, southern Texas, Bowling Green, S. Dakota. Temps were over 100* most of the time. AC had no problem keeping up and seat cooler worked just fine. My windows were not tinted until I got home. Did the tint you had installed also block UV and infrared? Mine does and it made a huge difference. BTW, with all of that I was always doing 10-20 mph over the posted speed on the freeway. A 100 mph in Texas with the AC on 104* and the car never even came close to overheating. Just saying.

If you are using Auto mode it will be less than ideal in hot conditions and set to 70 (or above) when you are in traffic or the car is not moving. It seems Auto does not know how to keep the car cool properly.
Fix for me was to set AC Auto to 67 or below with the auto fan speed on low.
Keeps car plenty cool now.

No problems here in southern AZ. Temps have been 112 + and car interior pushing 150 after sitting in the sun for a short time. A/C works just fine.

I am located in southern New Mexico desert. Temps recently over 100 to 105 and "NO" reported problems with A/C on the C7.
Take it to the dealer for a look.

For those having issues, have you tried changing the settings to allow the fan to run at max speed when in Auto mode? If the car is hot to begin with, like if its been sitting in the sun, and the fan can't ramp up to maximum, then I could see it taking quite a while to cool down.
