The complaints here are rather few and often tame compared to my FT86 forum (Scion/Toyota/Subaru).

With the immense complexity of this vehicle it is inevitable that there will be some problems on a few of them.

Now that I fixed the damn creak in my roof I'm happy (except I wish the clear coat was not so darn cheap and scratched by anything).

I'm starting to think I'd rather have a less complex, more reliable car like my C5.

Yeah, I've heard the FRS and BRZ are ultra unreliable.
Doesn't make sense since they don't have that much special technology, and Toyota/Subaru are known for quality cars.

There is rumor that there will be a new Supra (built in conjunction with the BMW Z4). Wonder if that marriage of auto makers will have problems as well?

Can anyone think of a car that has Corvette C7 performance that is reliable and low ownership/maintenance costs?

Ah and there are those of us who have had problems

My 05 C6 is a wonderful car my C7 not so much. The damn car will recognize a device and then not...... I never know what to expect. The car backfires and hesitates on acceleration from time to time, once again when it feels like it. (although it mostly happens in very warm weather)

Brought it to the dealer and just wasted trips as they can never duplicate the problems.... Then there are the recalls so far two.

Those of us who have problems and type them here are usually portrayed as not knowing anything about performance cars & etc or haters. Why diminish or discredit another members concerns.

I would venture to say the percentage of problems to Corvettes produced between the C6 & C7 generation are probably the same. Case in point, in the second year of production both generations upgraded transmissions ......... and more threads reporting problems

In conclusion, all cars have problems sometimes you get one with none as with my C6 and sometimes you get one that can drive you nuts as with my C7

I've had my 2014 Z51 since December 2013; 12k miles. No issues at all. Fantastic car that actually lives up to all the hype it gets.

I picked up my 2015 daily driver Stingray the first week in February and have 3,000 miles and zero issues in 5 months of daily driving, including two road trips of 175 miles there and back and the 300-mile drive home from the dealer. Open roads, heavy traffic, sunshine, pouring rain, 40 degrees, 95 degrees, easy driving, pedal to the metal, its all been good so far. Great even.

But would anybody expect anything less than a car functioning properly in all different weather conditions? Is that the minimum we're going for here?

My wife's 2014 Z51 convertible is 15 months old and has over 17,000 miles on it. She drives it to work every day and loves it !

No problems whatsoever. The only time it has been back to the dealer is to take advantage of the free oil changes that came with the purchase. No problems with it ever.

She did get a recall notice about the gas filler screen but is waiting for the next oil change to have that taken care of.

If you sell your C7, chances are 95% you will find another used C7 more reliable than your old one.

Another consideration is that the C7 is a high performance package. Anytime a manufacturer seeks to push the technology envelope to produce more power, lighter, higher handling limits etc, the end product is more sophisticated, more complicated and simply (and statistically) more likely prone to functionality issues. No one should compare the C7 to an Accord for problems reported per 1000 units sold. For my own experience, my 14 Z51 with 7K miles has been driven hard, has had no anomalies, comparable build quality to the BMW's and Mercedes (at least at the same price point) I have owned....my only bitch might be that the audio is sub-par but, I didn't get the car for that.
