Default Smells like liquid nails!

My 2014 I didn't notice an issue. If it did it subsided. On my 2015 even after almost 3 months still is giving off fumes in the interior. Really strong I'm wondering these fumes cannot be good to sit in. Like sitting in a tube of liquid nails. Anyone else getting the fumes.

Keep the windows rolled down when possible. That'll help. A quality leather/interior conditioner will help.

My 2015 has a really strong resin smell. I love it. My wife hates it. For those of you that don't like it, bottle it up and send it to me. When the smell recedes in my car I will open up your bottles.

The "off-gassing" affects people differently but it is not healthy to be breathing these chemicals in a closed environment like a car interior.

Will these gases "kill" you? No but they can make you sick depending on how long you are exposed to them and what your immune system is like.

Bromine (flame retardant in plastics) = thyroid problems
Chlorine & phthalates (in plastics) = decreased fertility & liver damage
Arsenic, chromium, mercury and tin, etc = carcinogens

It's like race gas and markers. Some people think it smells cool but it's definitely not good for you and your brain cells are dying off each time you inhale it.

Thanks for the tip....I just ordered this from Amazon. Under $9.00 with 2 day shipping.

On going on 6 months with the car since delivery and still have the smell. It doesn't really bother me, but would like to eliminate it if possible. I will test the product first hand and see how this works and will follow up.

Mine's not bad either unless I leave it in the sun for a few hours. Keep us posted. I don't have faith in products until someone has proven it. I read the reviews on Amazon & Home Depot and they were both good & bad.

The resin smell in my new C7 lasted about 2-3 weeks and now it has been replaced with the lovely smell of new leather.

Mine just smells like new leather.. Maybe the 3lt package with all the extra leather/suede just overpowers the other smells...?..... Either way it smells good to me..

Question for OP: What version is your Vette? 3LT? Is it definitely NOT a leather- aroma?

Curious minds want to know.

So if I understand correctly you're saying GM is selling cars that make people sick? Is that even legal? Is this targeted only at Corvette owners?

Getting rid of the smell would not seem to resolve the nasty health issues you're suggesting exist in our cars.

Mine's a 3LT and it's not a leather smell, more like silicone sealant used in the body construction.

Let me add this.....if it sits in the garage for a few days it's hardly noticeable. If it sits outside in the sun for a few hours it will just about irritate your eyes. On sunny days I park it outside with the windows down.

Hmm...Mines a 3LT also, but the aroma sure smells like leather to me. Maybe I need another couple of opinions on this, with some folks who are known to have good olfactory sensors.
