Default 3LT part question

I'm looking to upgrade my 2LT interior with a part from a 3LT. It's the piece on the dash that is leather and surrounds the gauge bezel then tapers down to the console on the right. Looking to get this in red. Has anyone gotten this part and is it easy to install? Looks like it snaps right off.

I got this part from Patrick at Cultrag Performance (they are a forum vendor) you are correct it snaps on with clips. I also replaced the dash pad on the passenger side that is a bit more complicated. I have a Kalahari interior so my part number would be different than the one you want but Patrick or Gene at Cultrag would know the right number.

Looked it up, but it seems to be one part of many in an exploded view.

You will find it here. Cost depends on what trim level you have. The easy way is just to tell Gene or Patrick what you want and the year, trim level, and color of your car and they will send you a shopping cart entry with the right parts.

I had the dealership do my install because I did not want to mess with the driver side trim panel because it contains the air bag. Several people here have done the trim piece over the instrument panel and say it is fairly easy. The dealership only charged me $80 to do all three of the trim pieces I replaced.

I've considered doing this as well since I have the 2LT trim level. Do you have any Before/After pics of your car? Also, is the difference between the two types of leather grating? In other words, is it blatantly obvious for someone who isn't a nutbag like us?

Sorry I don't have any before and after pictures. But my "after" picture would look just like a 2016 3LT trim level. I replaced the black dash cover over the instrument cluster, the grab handle, and the passenger side dash panel with Kalahari. So my car now looks like the 2016 3LT with the exception that the lower part of my door panels is black. The Kalahari leather on the replacement trim panels is a perfect match for the other Kalahari trim pieces. I wanted the 3LT "look" but did not want the NAV and PDR.

I just sent an email to Patrick at Cultag Performance and told him what I wanted to do and the year, trim level, and color of my car and he sent me a parts list that I ordered. He even sent one of the trim panels back to the factory for a replacement because it had some minor wrinkles and did not meet his quality standards.

I think it looks great and have had many compliments, but at the end of the day it is only important that you like it.

Yes, I used an upholstery shop for the Upper Molding and Finish Panel and the dealer for the Trim Pad. Not hard at all to install. If you have the tools you could probably install the Upper Molding and Finish Panel. To install the Trim Pad you will need to remove the glove box first. The directions are on the forum.

My friend has a 3LT and the leather on the top of the doors is much nicer than the alligator-like plastic crap on my 2LT.
