Corvette.Com Online Configurator
When on Earth is Corvette.com going to switch the online configurator over to allow MY2016 builds?
It's a wee bit frustrating to see '16 deliveries being made and the website is still set to configure 2015 models.

Pricing has been released.

Good point. If the pricing is released then why the hell can't GM get the website up where you can go and configure your car, swap out options, and generally get an accurate idea of what a particular C7 or Z06 costs?
Great marketing tool. It totally puzzles me why they don't do this.

Does not puzzle me. I agree with your idea of how it could be done but also recognize GM sees it as a marketing tool and as such it will need tires on the ground to send people to after they have checked out the options. If anyone doubts me, how does the configurator end? Per my memory by offering to do a search for what you want in the area where you live. And I still have not figured out how you can check only MT and get referral to a dozen vehicles, each one AT equipped.

I agree it's frustrating, but from a business perspective it makes sense. Chevy does not want people configuring for '16 models when there are still '15s on dealer lots; they want to sell all the '15s first. They may have it updated by mid-Aug, but I would not be surprised if it is Labor Day.

This is nothing new. Chevrolet has been doing this slow change to the current new model year pricing and build website thing for years. I cant recall the exact dates in the past but I do recall they have always been way late in getting the new and the current website up and running. My way of thinking is that the website should be updated the day after you can no longer order a car for that model year. But the way Chevrolet operates they seem to think its OK for them to be building the new Corvette, people ordering the new Corvette yet no one seems to know the pricing.

Chevrolet sells their product to dealers. Their primary concern is meeting the needs of their dealers. They expect their dealers will be smart enough to meet the needs of any retail customers that happen their way. So, why would Chevrolet go out of their way to make life difficult for their thousands of customers (the 3100 North American Chevy dealerships)?

I was in an Arbitration on a Corvette many years ago. (By the way I did win the Arbitration/Lemon Law case) The attorney for Chevy/GM informed me that their customer is the dealer and we the actual buying public, ya know, the ones with the money, are classified as the dealers customer.

If GM doesn't get customers to the dealers, they won't sell cars. GM IS selling cars to us through a dealer network. Yikes. Next we'll be told the world is flat.

Of course, I could be wrong.
But I'm not.
